However, you'll have to walk a block or two to be picked up by your driver.The logic behind the new service is to help Uber drivers be able to drive in a straight line to pick up pool passengers. That way, there are no out-of-the-way stops.However, it could mean for a slower pickup time. The Boston Red Sox made sure to savor their Game 4 win over the New York Yankees in the American League Division Series on Tuesday.The Red Sox played Frank Sinatra's edition of "New York, New York," a staple at Yankee Stadium, as they celebrated advancing to the American League Championship Series.Boston was merely returning the favor after Yankees star Aaron Judge had the song echoing throughout the inside of Fenway Park following New York's Game 2 victory on Saturday.The Yankees nearly erased what had been a 4-0 deficit Tuesday. They scored two runs in the ninth inning off Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel and had the tying and go-ahead runs on base when Gleyber Torres grounded out to end the game.The Red Sox are headed to the ALCS for the first time since their World Series victory in 2013.  833

Tinder is soaring thanks to its new premium membership plan: Tinder Gold.Match Group, which owns 45 dating platforms including Tinder, OkCupid and Match.com, reported on Tuesday that Tinder Gold subscriptions boosted sales 19% from a year ago.Tinder added a record 476,000 paying members last quarter. Now 2.5 million customers pay for Tinder.Match CEO Greg Blatt called Tinder's quarter "fantastic" in a prepared statement.Investors swiped right on the report: Shares of Match Group spiked 11% on Wednesday. To Cristal Franklin, she was so much more.“I saw her as my aunt. The one who cooked dinner for my roommate from college when I came home.  The one who bought the best gifts on earth for Christmas and birthdays,” Franklin said.Franklin says she visited her aunt in the days before she died, hoping for a miracle, but knowing her time would likely be short  She got word she had passed as she left town.“We were taking my daughter to college when we got the news. I made it on the plane. When the door closed, I lost it,” said Cristal.She drove by the Charles H Wright Museum of African American History the night before the public visitation and saw already overwhelming crowds. In her grief, she decided to take food to those first in line and learn about what her aunt meant to them.Cristal, a clothing designer, known as CFranks, decided to make a shirt that listed he aunt's accomplishments.“I want people to know she was more than a singer,” Franklin said. “She was a civil rights activist.”“I want people to listen to the old songs and play them for their children," she said.She shared memories of her aunt helping students pay for college, seeing families lose their belongings in a fire and responding, helping activists get out of prison, and paying for funerals of those in need.“It is overwhelming because she is our aunt,” Franklin said.Cristal is hoping people learn about her aunt through her creation. You can find it here. 1531

There are 725 days until the 2020 presidential election.  “I know people think it's a long way out, but the reality is the Iowa caucuses are likely to be 15 months from now, if not sooner,” says Dr. Lara Brown, the director of the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University.Iowa is key. Several high-profile Democrats have already visited the state recently, and experts say it won't be long until some of them officially throw their hat in the ring.“I would imagine we're going to have some candidates announcing their runs either at the end of this year, so the end of December, or in the first two months of 2019,” says Brown.Brown published a book on presidential nominations and elections called “Jockeying for the American Presidency: The Political Opportunism of Aspirants.”Brown says Democrats can expect a crowded field, just like the Republicans had in 2016.While no one has officially announced a party candidate, a list of potential candidates has been building for months.“We're going to have a lot of different Democrats from a lot of different regions, trying to make the argument they're really the one to lead the party and bring the White House back to the Democrats.”While it's rare that an incumbent president loses a re-election campaign, Brown says President Trump is vulnerable.“It’s evident after the 2018 elections that the Republican party's base is shrinking,” she says. “They are not appealing to as many people as they used to.
