National leaders are launching an investigation into nursing homes and how they are handling the coronavirus crisis, specifically asking how they spent federal funds during the pandemic and their efforts to prevent further infections.Letters seeking information were sent to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the federal agency that oversees nursing homes, as well as the five largest for-profit nursing home companies in the country. NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (KGTV) -- Police in National City are investigating after a man was shot and killed near a 7-Eleven early Sunday morning. Police responded to the 100 block of North Highland Avenue just before 5 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots in the area.After arriving, police found a 55-year-old man who had been shot. (KGTV) -- A man who was apparently shot with an arrow was found dead in National City Monday afternoon.According to National City Police, the incident was reported at around 2:30 p.m. near the 1800 block of Wilson Avenue.After the shooting, the suspect reportedly called police saying he shot an arrow into a man. The suspect told police there was a fight before the shooting.NCPD Captain Alex Hernandez said the suspect showed officers where the victim was located. The victim was found in what appeared to be a homeless encampment and pronounced dead at the scene."We were able to recover the bow and some other items that were nearby as evidence," said Hernandez.Police say a woman who was believed to be with the two men at the time of the shooting was questioned. All three are believed to be transients living in the encampment where the incident took place, police say.While the deceased man was not identified, National City police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Miguel Venegas; he was booked into jail on a suspicion of murder charge. 1080
MoviePass, the struggling movie subscription service, will limit customers to three movies per month.The company is trying to burn less cash so it can stay in business.Under the previous plan, customers could see one movie per day in theaters. The change to three movies per month takes effect August 15.
