Corpus Christi, Texas, police say there will be no charges filed after a compact SUV ran over a grandmother.The incident happened near an intersection around 4:45 pm Friday.According to the police, a grandmother was walking in the crosswalk with her granddaughter. The granddaughter made it to the sidewalk before the grandmother could. Seconds later, a compact SUV making a left onto Baldwin struck the grandmother at a slow speed and ran over the grandmother.The grandmother suffered severe injuries, but medics told investigators the injuries appear to be non-life threatening.Police said the driver of the compact SUV told investigators she didn't see the grandmother because of the sunset. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene of the crash, according to police. 783

CINCINNATI — It's your right as an American to give people the finger, even if the recipient of your flipped bird is a police officer, a federal appeals court ruled this week.The case centered around Debra Cruise-Gulyas, a Michigan woman who displayed her middle finger to a police officer who had stopped her for speeding and written her a ticket for a lesser violation in 2017.The officer, Matthew Minard, then stopped the woman again less than 100 yards away and amended the ticket to a speeding violation.Cruise-Gulyas later sued Minard, alleging that he violated her constitutional rights by pulling her over the second time.The case eventually made its way to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, and a panel of judges ruled on Wednesday that stopping Cruise-Gulyas because of the gesture was a violation of her First Amendment rights."Fits of rudeness or lack of gratitude may violate the Golden Rule," Judge Jeffrey S. Sutton wrote. And what is it doing there?A family in Highland, Michigan, believes their house is haunted and what's even more disturbing is that whatever is haunting the home is doing harm to their little girl.Heather Brough and Joshua Higgins say they couldn't believe what they saw on their nanny cam."It’s almost like she sees something that we don’t," Brough said. It’s an image she and Higgins say is haunting their home."It was chilling," Higgins said. "It was literally a chill down your spine, like that 'what if' factor — is this what I just saw?"Caught on the couple's nanny cam video a few weeks ago is what appears to be something moving in front of the baby crib. The couple says it appears to be a ghost."I freaked out," Brough said. "I stopped what I was doing and I ran upstairs and grabbed my daughter."She says this so-called ghost scratched her daughter Lily and attacked her too."It scares us that it could do something else," Brough said.
