As the debate over voting by mail continues, President Donald Trump told a North Carolina news outlet that voters should test election safeguards by voting both in person and via mail, something which could cause voters legal issues.Trump has expressed doubt in mail-in voting during the 2020 election cycle, claiming that mail-in voting is prone to fraud. But many states, some of which are led by Republicans, are ramping up mail-in voting efforts. Proponents of mail-in voting say that it is a safer alternative than in-person voting given the coronavirus pandemic.The president, speaking to a reporter from WECT, said he wanted voters to test the state’s safeguards.“So let them send it in and let them go vote, and if their system’s as good as they say it is, then obviously they won’t be able to vote,” Trump told WECT. “If it isn’t tabulated, they’ll be able to vote. So that’s the way it is. And that’s what they should do.”In North Carolina, it is a Class I felony to vote twice. The National Conference of State Legislatures has a list of laws pertaining to “double voting” on its website. Attorney General Pam Bondi said Tuesday that Home Depot is sending 45 tractor-trailers containing disaster-relief supplies to Florida communities impacted by Hurricane Irma and pledging even more supplies before the end of the week.Millions of Floridians are still without power and thousands more have been displaced by flooding or storm damage.Bondi said the Home Depot trucks are carrying cases of water, plywood, generators and electrical cords, among other items.The supplies, headed to South Florida, will be sold at normal prices.Bondi's office said the home building company is shipping additional supplies in the coming days with more than a million bottles of water expected by the end of the week.The state said Home Depot will sell the water for .97 a case.Florida’s Price Gouging Hotline remains open during this emergency declaration covering all 67 counties.  914

AURORA, Colo. – Hundreds of people are expected to gather Friday evening to demand that three officers involved in the in-custody death of Elijah McClain be fired by the Aurora Police Department.“For ten months Aurora Police Department has shielded Elijah McClain's murderers on their force from facing any form of justice. It was only last Friday, just ahead of a mass march for Elijah, that they pulled the three killers off the streets and put them on paid desk duty,” the Party for Socialism and Liberation – Denver (PSL) said in a statement about the event. “We need to make it clear that this is absolutely NOT enough.”Last Friday, APD announced officers Nathan Woodyard, Jason Rosenblatt and Randy Roedema had been taken off street duty "because of threats and harassment," according to a police spokesperson.
