But the Democratic National Convention begins a week of speeches and virtual events tonight, kicking off the home stretch of a very unusual presidential campaign.From virtual setups across the country this week, the Democrats will nominate and celebrate their 2020 ticket — former Vice President Joe Biden and his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris.The opening night theme, "We The People," will lead into an overall unity theme for the Democrats this week.Sen. Bernie Sanders, who battled Biden from the progressive flank during the primary cycle, is among Monday's headliners. He's scheduled to take the podium beginning at 10 p.m. ET.Also appearing Monday is John Kasich, a Republican and former governor or Ohio. He ran for president during the 2016 cycle.Finally, former First Lady Michelle Obama will take the stage on Monday. Her speech at the 2016 DNC included one of the week's standout quotes: "Our motto is, 'When they go low, we go high.'"Since Harris joined Biden on the ticket, they've coalesced around certain themes, including the former vice president's ongoing call that 2020 is a battle for the "soul of the nation."But at the campaign's core now is trying to persuade voters that they are best equipped to lead the U.S. out of the coronavirus pandemic.The televised portion of Monday's convention begins at 9 p.m. ET. It's been nearly 20 years since "Home Improvement" went off the air, but a new report indicates the show may be coming back for a reboot.One of the stars of the show, Richard Karn, told Closer Weekly that he spoke with Tim Allen about the show."I just talked to (Tim Allen) about it," Karn told Closer. The list of rejects, which WRTV acquired through an information request with the BMV, range from wildly profane to sexually explicit to politically motivated to complete gibberish.One person decided to be a "SMRTA55," while others wondered "WTF 2020" and cursed "COV1D19." A few submissions came from spirited Purdue fans who wanted to tell other drivers it's time to "BTFU" (Boiler The F**k Up).Many of the puns referred to, well, let's just say bodily functions and anatomy. And at least half simply were not suitable to be printed on a family-friendly news website, such as the one you're reading now, so you will have to use your imagination. We're "SRRY."According to the BMV, personalized license plates can only contain a combination of numbers and letters. Special characters are not allowed. (The person who submitted "F*NITUP" should have read the instructions.)The BMV can refuse a personal license plate if it contains a combination of letters or numbers that "carries a meaning or connotation offensive to good taste and decency," "would be misleading" or that "the BMV otherwise considers improper for issuance." Ivanka Trump last year often used a personal email account to discuss or relay official White House business, according to emails released Monday by nonpartisan watchdog group.According to emails released by American Oversight, Trump used her personal account through much of 2017 to email Cabinet officials, White House aides and her assistants. The Presidential Records Act requires all official White House communications and records be preserved.The Washington Post was first to report on the emails. The White House had no comment on Ivanka Trump's email practices.Trump's usage of a private email account will bring comparisons to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whose usage of a private email server instead of a government email account during her time in office was a central part of President Donald Trump's campaign against her in 2016. Trump's supporters often chanted -- and still do, on occasion -- "Lock her up!" at the mention of Clinton, and President Trump has frequently accused Clinton of receiving special treatment because she was not charged for skirting the Presidential Records Act with her email practices.Peter Mirijanian, the spokesperson for Ivanka Trump's attorney and ethics counsel, said in a statement, "Like most people, before entering into government service, Ms. Trump used a private email. When she entered the government, she was given a government email account for official use. While transitioning into government, until the White House  provided her the same guidance they had to others who started before she did, Ms. Trump sometimes used her private account, almost always for logistics and scheduling concerning her family."Some advisers to President Donald Trump were alarmed when they heard this news, the Post reports, because of the similarities to Clinton's email use. Trump has called Clinton "Crooked Hillary" for using a personal email account when she was secretary of state.Mirijanian sought to draw a specific contrast between Ivanka Trump's personal email usage and Clinton's, by noting that she did not have the server set up in her home or office."To address misinformation being peddled about Ms. Trump's personal email, she did not create a private server in her house or office, there was never classified information transmitted,  the account was never transferred or housed at Trump Organization, no emails were ever deleted, and the emails have been retained in the official account in conformity with records preservation laws and rules," Mirijanian's statement continues.White House officials were first made aware of Ivanka Trump's email usage through American Oversight's lawsuit. 2679
