SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Office of Education says schools may hold on-campus classes beginning Tuesday under new guidance. The updated county health orders that take effect June 16 allows all schools -- with the exception of colleges and universities -- to hold on-campus classes as long as the schools comply with measures outlined by the California Department of Public Health.Those measures include face coverings required at all times, daily temperature checks recommended, increased emphasis on hand washing and sanitizing, enhanced cleaning and disinfecting in the classrooms and setting classrooms up to allow for increased physical distance between students.Each school must complete and post a document detailing the actions the school is taking to comply with the industry guidance issued by the state.The order from the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency says: "All public, charter and private schools may hold classes or school business operations on the school campus, provided the school complies with the measures contained in the State COVID-19 Industry Guidance: Schools and School-Based Programs issued by the CDPH (including the face covering requirements contained therein), also incorporating where feasible the guidelines provided in Stronger Together: A Guidebook for the Safe Reopening of California’s Public Schools issued by the California Department of Education. Each school shall complete and post a document detailing the actions the school is taking to comply with the CDPH Industry Guidance measures after considering the CDE Guidelines noted above. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Blood Bank is hosting a Holiday Bowl blood drive during a time of year when donations are typically low. The drive will be held Thursday, November 21 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the SDCCU Stadium parking lot, sections A and B. Donors are encouraged to make an appointment ahead of time, but walk-ins are also welcome. The blood bank says they hope to get several hundred people to donate, because the winter is always a slow time."People get busy, they go on vacation, and blood donation kind of falls off as a top priority," says Blood Bank CEO David Wellis. "The need for blood, though, doesn't decline.The blood bank likes to have a 4-7 day supply on hand. Right now, Wellis says they have about 2 days. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The San Diego Sheriff's Department requested the public's help locating a North County woman who disappeared more than seven years ago.Kimberly "Kim" Jo Evans, 48, was last seen on April 30, 2013, by her mother at their Encinitas home. Evans left that morning on foot and has not been seen or heard from since.Evans was last seen wearing a green plaid blouse, green shorts, and carrying a suitcase.She's described as 5'6", weighing about 110 pounds, has reddish-brown hair and brown eyes. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Three Scripps Health clinics will be reopening after being closed in March when stay-at-home orders began due to the coronavirus pandemic.Scripps says it has also resumed time-critical surgeries at its five hospital locations and outpatient surgery centers in the county.Scripps Coastal Medical Center Escondido, Scripps Coastal Medical Center Solana Beach, and Scripps Clinic Santee are reopening for the same medical services that were available at the sites prior to closing, expect for radiology.During the closures, patients were referred to other Scripps Health sites that were still open.As the medical centers reopen, Scripps Health says it is taking all necessary precautions, including all staff and patients wearing masks, screening patients before they enter, isolating patients with COVID-19 symptoms, and using strict cleaning protocols."We are very thoughtfully and cautiously phasing in a return of services to make sure that we have what we need to protect our patients and staff – from personal protective equipment to disinfecting supplies – to ensure the safety of everyone in our facilities," said Ghazala Sharieff, Scripps chief medical officer of clinical excellence and experience. 1233
