COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State football players and their parents were given a pledge to sign, asking them to acknowledge the risk of COVID-19 and take responsibility for their own health and safety, according to a document obtained by ESPN and The Columbus Dispatch.The electronic pledge, called the “Buckeye Pledge,” states that players will agree to COVID-19 testing and potential self-quarantine if they test positive. CINCINNATI — A Mason, Ohio woman said a "hero" tended to another woman who was suffering from seizures during a flight from Houston to Cincinnati on Sunday, and she wants to know why the pilot didn't land so the woman could get medical attention.Amy Hammond said a woman, who appeared to have a young boy with her, two rows in front of her began seizing as the plan was ascending out of Houston, about a minute or two after takeoff on United flight 3466. A man sitting nearby said he worked for a fire department and began to help her, despite being initially scolded for being in the aisle during the ascent, Hammond said. He asked if there was a doctor and then tended to the woman himself through seizures and periods of unresponsiveness. The good Samaritan helped the woman for more than two hours, according to Hammond."He 100 percent kept the plane calm," she said. "He kept us calm because he was so in control."The woman seized "dozens of times" during the flight, but the man would keep her breathing and wake her up, according to Hammond. About 40 minutes in, another person also stood up to help. She said they went through nearly two cans of oxygen from onboard the plane."He just kept her talking, kept right in her face, just kept her going," Hammond said. "And then he knew he was losing her and all this stuff. CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Two Good Samaritans say they saved a man off the ledge of the Coronado Bridge late Monday night. They said they spotted him while driving home from San Diego, and couldn't help but turn around to get him. 10News Photojournalist Zach Wonderlie talked to them about the life-saving rescue"We were driving from the San Diego area to Coronado and I noticed a kid sitting on the ledge," said Aiden Leavitt. The driver of the car, Charles Crehore, instantly sprung into action - deciding to back up on the empty bridge and help save the man's life. "I'd actually thought about this. I'd thought, 'If if I ever get in that situation, what am I gonna do?" Crehore said. "And I decided if it comes to me and I'm there...I'm stopping my car, I'm gonna get out and I'm gonna stop them."As he backed up to where the man stood on the bridge, Leavitt jumped out of the passenger side and bear-hugged the man on the bridge. "I just didn't hesitate. I just jumped out of the car and I grabbed him," Leavitt said. The man didn't fight back as Leavitt pulled him into the car, and allowed the friends to drive him to Sharp Coronado Hospital. It wasn't long before his family and police showed up to help.The men say they're grateful that they were in the right place at the right time. "I just hope that he works his way through whatever it is that he's having trouble with," Crehore said.If you or a loved one is experiencing symptoms of depression, the number to the San Diego Crisis Hotline is 888 - 724 - 7240. 1626

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Firefighters are battling a major fire in Corpus Christi following a pipeline explosion along the city's refinery row.The blast happened just after 8:05 a.m. near Lantana and I-37, possibly at EPIC Products near Lantana and Navigation.Firefighters said the fire ignited a barge, which became fully engulfed. The fire then spread from the pipeline to the grain elevator.KRIS reports that multiple people during the explosion ended up in the water.CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline representatives said they are treating four people from the explosion. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. Two victims are being flown to Brooke Army Medical Center burn units in San Antonio.Corpus Christi Mayor Joe McComb said there is a search and rescue operation for four people who are still missing.KRIS has learned that EPIC Products had a brand new pipeline built for loading. It was reportedly going in at the facility when there was a pipeline rupture at the barge loading dock.According to Lieutenant Marina Lyons with the US Coast Guard, a dredge struck a submerged pipeline causing a fire in the Corpus Christi ship channel. The owner of the barge said they had multiple employees working at the site at the time of the explosion.The Corpus Christi Police Department has closed off Lantana Street to traffic as crews work to contain the inferno. 1379
