DENVER -- A police body camera video leaked to Scripps station KMGH in Denver shows the son of Denver Mayor Michael Hancock using a slur against an Aurora police officer during a traffic stop.“My dad’s the mayor, you f---ing f--got,” Jordan Hancock is shown saying in the video clip.“Of Denver? Well you’re in Aurora,” the officer responds.“Guess what, I’m about to get you fired you f---ing b---h,” Hancock is heard saying later. The video clip sent to KMGH by an anonymous source is only about 20 seconds long and ends with 22-year-old Hancock driving away. KMGH requested the full video from Aurora police but the request was declined.KMGH has learned that after requesting a copy of Jordan Hancock’s ticket and the body camera video, the Aurora Police Department alerted the office of Denver’s mayor. APD said it notified Mayor Hancock's office as a “courtesy.”A traffic ticket issued to Jordan Hancock says he was driving 65 miles an hour in a 40 miles per hour zone. In the ticket, the officer wrote, “Attitude very poor-see video.”The ticket was issued by an Aurora police officer on Friday, March 23, 2018 near the intersection of East 40th Avenue and North Walden Street shortly before 8 a.m.Jordan Hancock made a mandatory court appearance Monday morning and agreed to pay a 0 fine. When asked by the judge why he was driving so fast, Hancock explained he was running late. After the court appearance, KMGH asked Jordan Hancock to explain what happened during the 20-second video clip. KMGH asked Hancock about his choice of language, his decision to say he was the mayor's son, and his threat to get the officer fired. Hancock did not respond to any of the questions.Mayor Hancock declined requests for an interview to discuss the video, but his office did send a written statement:“We addressed this matter with Jordan and he has apologized to the Officer. While we do not support nor condone his inexcusable actions and words during this traffic stop, we love our son dearly and support him.”Aurora Police Chief Nick Metz also declined to comment on the video. Instead, his department released this statement: 2161

DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) — While a hotly-debated gun show is returning to the Del Mar Fairground, its future remains clouded after a recently signed law. The Crossroads of the West gun show returned to the fairgrounds Saturday, two months after Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill banning the sale of guns and ammo at the venue. That law doesn't take effect until 2021, allowing the gun show to continue until then."It's been a mainstay for 30 years in San Diego and a small group of extremists tried to get it canceled and were successful for just a few months last year, but fortunately the courts stepped in and said, 'no you can't discriminate against a group based on what they described as their culture," Michael Schwartz, executive director of San Diego County Gun Owners, told reporters Saturday. "The fight's not over."RELATED: California adopts broadest US rules for seizing gunsThat fight will continue in a year. Assembly Bill 893, introduced in February by State Assemblymember Todd Gloria (D-78), argues California shouldn't have a role in facilitating gun sales. Gov. Newsome signed the bill last October."People have the right to continue to buy guns at private establishments," Gloria said shortly after the bill's signing. "The state just shouldn't have a role in facilitating the flow of guns into neighborhoods where children are killed." Protesters are expected outside of the show Saturday to counter gun advocates."They are coming back to finish off our families by calling their gun shows ‘family friendly,’" Rose Ann Sharp, founder of NeverAgainCA, said. "It gives a perverse new meaning to 'women and children first.' For seven years the NRA has blocked any national laws to protect all citizens from gun violence."RELATED: Del Mar gun shows can continue for now, U.S. district court judge rulesAdvocates for the show say the event is meant to promote gun safety and curb violence."Gun shows are not the place where gun violence is created," Crossroads President Tracy Olcott says. "We're the ones who are educating about gun safety and I think when you have an environment where you can talk about it and educate people, I think that's an important part of curbing gun violence."In September 2018, the Del Mar Fairgrounds Board of Directors voted to suspend the Crossroads of the West show until the state developed new safety policies for gun shows. Crossroads appealed the suspension and was granted the right to return in June 2019.The show's contract runs through 2020.Schwartz admits they don't know what will happen to the show after the next year, but they're hopeful the court system will rule in their favor once again."We believe there is going to be some kind of court decision and there is the possibility that it will be delayed and have to move its way up through the court system," Schwartz said. "But we're very confident that the court's going to see that this type of discrimination against this group of people — that they simply consider undesirable — is not right. "The fairgrounds is a state-owned, regional asset and just because one city decides they don't like a culture, that doesn't mean that they can kick them out of town ... Del Mar doesn't get to dictate who they like and who they dislike." 3252

DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) - A trio of teenage girls is helping the Community Resource Center fill their "Holiday Baskets" this year. The girls, Lucie Babcock, Talia Buzi and Abbie Raysman, donated hundreds of dollars' worth of toys, food and household items to the CRC's yearly campaign."It's just a great feeling to know you're givine and helping people have an amazing holiday season," Lucie says. The three girls held a bake sale earlier this month to raise money. They sold muffins, cookies, brownies, coffee and orange juice in their Carmel Valley neighborhood."It was so much fun," says Abbie. "Lucie's brother was dancing in the middle of the street with a sign, stopping traffic."The bake sale raised around 0, which the girls used on a shopping spree for the donations. The CRC Holiday Baskets program helps 1,600 needy families in the North County. It gives them toys, clothes, food and more for the Christmas season. Organizers say they're impressed with the young girls' desire to give, and that it's small donations like these that help them serve so many people.Lucie started donating to Holiday Baskets when she was 9 years old. Over the years, her bake sale grew to the point where she needed help. Her friends Talia and Abbie were happy to lend a hand."I think it's a really great organization," says Talia of the CRC. "This is a great way to help people who are less fortunate."Lucie says it's all about making sure other kids get the same feeling of joy she does during the holidays."That's what I try to think about, that a kid who's not expecting anything can wake up and have something like this. That's just incredible for them." 1657

Days after NASCAR's only African American driver drove a car with a Black Lives Matter paint scheme, a second racer drove a car with a pro-police paint scheme.Kyler Weatherman drove a car adorned with a "Thin Blue Line" flag — a black-and-white American flag with one blue stripe — and the hashtag #BackTheBlue during Sunday's Dixie Vodka 400.While Weatherman's car did specifically mention the "Blue Lives Matter" movement, the "Thin Blue Line" flag is used as an emblem by the organization.Blue Lives Matter is a pro-police group. Critics say the group's formation directly countered the Black Lives Matter movement. 626

Dear @DNI_Ratcliffe: Did you even review the emails that @DHSgov officials say Iran sent? Those emails intimidate DEMOCRATS and warn them to vote for Trump. That hurts @JoeBiden. So is there another email you are referring to, or are you misleading the American people? https://t.co/Z42at3xd7G— Ted Lieu (@tedlieu) October 22, 2020 339
