(KGTV) - An Imperial Beach family made a chilling discovery at home: a circular piece of glass cut perfectly from the window of a toddler's nursery while he and his mother were inside.Along Emory Street, something peculiar happened last Monday. Vanya found some needed extra gravel on his property, courtesy of some nearby construction workers."They told me the homeowner had given them permission," said Vanya. The problem? Vanya owns the home and never gave permission. She thought her son had broken something, but he was asleep in the master bedroom. Meanwhile, the blinds in the nursery were closed, and she thought the sound may have come from a neighbor's home. Then on Sunday, with the blinds open, the family found it: a 5-inch-diameter perfect circle cut out from the nursery window. Perhaps his wife unknowingly scared the person off. Vanya remains worried about the intruder's methods.    The burglar likely used a ladder to scale the 10-foot-tall roof, before pulling out a glass cutter. What happens when they encounter someone's loved one? Would they run off or commit violence against them?" said Vanya.Vanya says the man who posed as the homeowner was in his white, in his 40s or 50s, balding and wearing an orange shirt. IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) — The man whose body was discovered floating off-shore in the South Bay this week has been identified.Zabiullah Rahmani, 29, was found after he entered the water near an Imperial Beach lifeguard tower during the early morning hours of Aug. 4. Officials said Rahmani was at the beach with a friend when he entered the water. The friend lost sight of him and a short time later, his body was found by joggers in the 700 block of Seacoast Drive.Paramedics pronounced Rahmani dead at the scene.At the time of discovery, the San Diego Sheriff's Department said drugs or alcohol may have played a role in Rahmani's death, but the Medical Examiner report didn't immediately offer a cause of death. 728

Hundreds of passengers on an Amtrak train that became disconnected will have quite a story to tell around the Thanksgiving table.The Montreal to New York train was traveling near Albany, New York, at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday when two cars separated from the engine, Amtrak spokesman Jason Abrams said in a statement. Of the 287 passengers and crew, he said, no one was injured. The passengers were transferred to a new train, Abrams said.CNN reached out to Amtrak for further details but has not heard back.Billy Osher-Dugan was traveling to spend Thanksgiving with his girlfriend when he saw the cars separate."It was packed," he said. "There were hardly any seats available."He heard a noise and turned around to see cars behind him rip apart from the train, he said. That's when one passenger pulled the emergency brake to stop the train and others -- upon smelling smoke -- grabbed the fire extinguisher.Luckily, he said, there was no fire and everyone was OK.Helen Mary Crane was with her son on the way to spend the holiday with her daughter. Crane said two cars were added to the train when she boarded in Rensselaer, New York, and that she and her son were told to sit in the first of the additions.Crane's car was one of the two to break off."As far as being with my son," she said. "I was terrified when I saw the sparks and smelled burning and then realized our car was no longer attached. I thought we would derail or be hit by the other train."She said she credits the man who pulled the emergency brake on the runaway cars for the safety of everyone. She identified him as Reuben Clarke, a student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute."He saved our lives tonight," Crane said. "Our car broke off from the rest of the train and was picking up speed. There was no Amtrak personnel in our car. Reuben calmly went into action and pulled the emergency brake at the front of the car. (AP) -- A California man has been charged with poisoning eight homeless people with an incredibly spicy resin derived from chili peppers so that he could videotape their reactions.Authorities in Southern California's Orange County say 38-year-old William Robert Cable fed the victims food laced with oleoresin capsicum, which is twice as strong as pepper spray used by police.The victims suffered seizure-like symptoms, difficulty breathing, vomiting and intense mouth and stomach pain. Some had to be hospitalized.Cable was arrested last month in Huntington Beach and prosecutors announced Thursday that he's been charged with nine felonies and various misdemeanor counts.Cable is being held in jail on 0,000 bail. 751
