Disney has narrowed down the opening dates for their Stars Wars expansions that are being built at both Disneyland and Disney World.The company announced on their Disney Parks blog that Star Wars Galaxy's Edge will open at Disneyland in summer of 2019. The expansion will open at Disney World in late fall 2019.The exact dates for the opening of both parks will be announced at a later date. They come just a few months before the yet to be named Star Wars Episode 9 is due in theaters on December 20, 2019.At Disneyland the massive expansion is being built north of Frontierland. At Disney World is being built at Disney's Hollywood Studios.The Disney World expansion is also being accompanied by a Star Wars themed hotel. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- An act of kindness on the job went a long way for an El Cajon family. On Christmas eve, two El Cajon police officers didn’t hesitate to buy dinner for a family living in their car. While always ready to respond to calls, officers never know exactly what they'll find. On this Christmas Eve call, they found a woman named Juanita and her two children, living in their car. Detective Travis Howard is President of the El Cajon Police Officers Association. He says the officers bought the family dinner at Jack in the Box and then closed the call. But after their shift, they wanted to do more, dipping in their own pockets to get the family a hotel room for two nights so they wouldn't be homeless on Christmas. The two police officers who first helped the family didn’t do it for the praise and asked to remain anonymous. 859

DOLLAR POINT, Calif. (KGTV) - A 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook the Lake Tahoe-area town of Truckee, California Thursday.The quake happened at 3:08 p.m. and was five kilometers north-northwest of Dollar Point in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range.People in Sacramento also felt the shaking about 120 miles away, according to the U.S. Geological Survey map.There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries. 419
EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - Meridian Baptist Church in El Cajon is working to put up a handful of so-called emergency sleeping cabins on their property.“They are different from tiny homes,” Pastor Rolland Slade said, pointing out that they don’t have running water or a kitchen. “They are essentially a shelter for someone living in homelessness to actually sleep behind a locked close door and be comfortable.”Slade says they have bathrooms on the property as well as a kitchen. They are looking to install a shower or perhaps bring them in through outside organizations.The emergency cabins are 144 sq feet, of which 96 square feet is livable space.“The village we are looking to build is going to focus on veteran women with children who are living in homelessness in El Cajon,” Slade says.Slade says they will find their clients through organizations that work with the homeless. The homes are not meant to be permanent housing, and families will be allowed to stay for 90 days.The church is working with a group called Amikas, as well as the city.El Cajon city officials have given the pilot program the green light through December 31, 2023. However, city officials say “permits are required, and the “emergency housing” must be operated by an organization experienced/proficient.”There is one cabin on the property. It is not occupied and is used as a demo. Slade hopes to get a total of six up in the next four to six months. They are working on fundraising efforts to build the cabins. 1500
