SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A 66-year-old man accidentally hit his 2-year-old grandson with a truck at a Kearny Mesa condominium complex Wednesday afternoon. According to San Diego Police, the incident happened near Spectrum Center Boulevard and Promenade Park Terrace just after 2 p.m. Police say the man was moving his Dodge pickup truck at the Esplanade at Spectrum Center Apartments being guided by his son. RELATED: Three children struck by car in Chula Vista Saturday night He then pulled forward without realizing his 2-year-old grandson had run into the path of the truck, striking the child, police say. The 2-year-old was taken to the hospital with a fractured right pelvis and fractured femur. The injuries are non-life threatening, police say. 756

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was injured in a machete attack in San Diego’s Talmadge neighborhood Thursday night, San Diego Police say. According to police, the incident happened just before 7 p.m. on the 4800 block of of El Cajon Boulevard.Police say the suspect walked up to the victim, who was sitting in his car, and attacked him with the machete. RELATED: Video shows machete attack in EscondidoPolice say the suspect shattered the vehicle’s windows with his machete. The victim got out of the car and ran off. But the suspect threw the weapon at the victim. The blade hit the victim in the back as the suspect then ran away.The victim received a a 3-inch cut on the ride side of his back, and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. (CNN) -- A fragment of wood believed to be from Jesus' manger is back in the Holy Land just in time for Christmas.The tiny inches long relic was first taken out of the Middle East in the 7th century when St. Sophronius, Patriarch of Jerusalem, donated it to Pope Theodore I. It remained in Rome's Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore until now.The wooden relic arrived on Saturday at its permanent home in Bethlehem in time for Advent and the beginning of the Christmas season.
