When talk emerged last autumn of a "Trump of the Tropics" running for president in Brazil, the actual US President Donald Trump took keen interest. Now, the man who adopted Trump's combative persona — in person and on Twitter — will meet his new friend during an official visit to the White House.Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will sit for formal bilateral talks with Trump on Tuesday, followed by a joint news conference, that will illustrate what White House officials hope is a budding partnership between the Western hemisphere's two largest economies. For now, it's a camaraderie based more in shared tactics, populist rhetoric and flattery than any particular issue, though officials said trade, security issues and the ongoing crisis in Venezuela are on the agenda for talks. Brazil also hopes to see itself elevated to "major non-NATO ally" status by the Trump administration, a major step that could help it purchase military equipment. The most closely watched dynamic will be the interpersonal relationship of the two men, who have spoken on the phone but not yet met in person. Trump phoned Bolsonaro within hours of him being declared the winner of October's election, during which he espoused loud pro-America — and pro-Trump — views. That's something of a rarity in Latin America or anywhere else in the world. Trump took notice, according to the senior administration official who briefed reporters ahead of the visit."That has caught the President's attention," the official said.In addition to his praise of the President, Bolsonaro has adopted some of the President's online habits, including on Twitter. He's derided negative media coverage as "fake news." And he's shared the President's combative attitude toward China. The two men have also both taken advice from Steve Bannon, the former White House senior adviser who broke with Trump after leaving the White House in 2017. Bannon had dinner with Bolsonaro in Washington on this week as part of a larger embassy event. Trump has not repaired his relationship with Bannon after a bitter split, people familiar with the two men say.His visit to Washington will be Bolsonaro's first overseas bilateral visit, an honor White House officials say illustrates the new president's commitment to fostering US ties. That's a change from the past."Even the friendliest of Brazilian governments was never that friendly," the official said. The two will work to create a "north-south axis" between the US and Brazil on economic issues as the two largest economies in the western hemisphere, the official said. That also includes steps that would allow US commercial space launches from a site in Brazil and increased trade between the two countries. The US also hopes to rely on Brazil's still-existent relationship with the Venezuelan military to apply pressure on leader Nicolas Maduro to relinquish power. 2881
VIRGINIA — Emma, a healthy Shih Tzu mix, was euthanized to fulfill her late owner's dying wish that the dog be put down -- and then laid to rest with her.The dog arrived at the Chesterfield County Animal Shelter in Chesterfield, Virginia, on March 8 after her owner's death, where she stayed for two weeks. During that time, the shelter was in contact with the executor of the dead woman's estate trying to keep the dog alive."We did suggest they could sign the dog over on numerous occasions, because it's a dog we could easily find a home for and re-home," said Carrie Jones, manager of Chesterfield Animal Services told 634

Twin 3-year-old girls in foster care were found dead Sunday in a hot vehicle in Georgia, according to a statement by the City of Hinesville. The statement said someone called 911 at 1:42 p.m. to report that two children who'd been missing had been found unresponsive in a vehicle in the backyard of a home.First responders arrived and found the two deceased toddlers inside. The temperature was around 92 degrees Fahrenheit at the time, according to CNN Weather. The girls, Raelynn and Payton Keyes, were in foster care, according to Whitney Morris-Reed, public relations manager for the City of Hinesville. Police said the girls didn't reside at the house where they were found but often spent time there."A search warrant for the home was obtained and GBI was contacted to assist with the investigation," according to the city's statement. "A crime scene unit processed the scene with the assistance from GBI and the bodies of the children were removed from the scene and taken to the crime lab. Autopsies will be performed on Monday, September 30."Captain Tracey Howard with Hinesville police 1106
When you’re at the drug store picking up an over-the-counter medication, you might notice the price of infant or children’s drugs are more expensive than the adult version.A search online showed that an adult version of Tylenol costs .99 a bottle at Target. The children’s version of the medicine costs .99 for four ounces at the same retailer. But a bottle of infant Tylenol that is two ounces is .79 a bottle. Why is there a large price difference?"When you start to add additional items to a package product, you start to see price differences," said Lisa Gill with Consumer Reports. Added products, like syringes and plastic measuring cups that help dispense the medicine, can add to the cost."That acetaminophen that is in the Tylenol product and store brand product is literally the exact same drug," Gill said.Johnson & Johnson, who makes Tylenol, did not respond to questions on how it determines pricing. But the company isn’t the only name brand that has wide price differences. If you are a brand loyalist, it can be hard breaking away, but Gill said it’s worth it."Believe it or not, the best deal is typically not Tylenol — it's going to be a generic,” Gill said. “The generic version, the store brand, the Walmart, the Target, the CVS, the Walgreens store brand — the store brand is almost always half the price."Although the generic brand for the adult version isn’t quite half of the price of Tylenol, it is still a discount at .49 a bottle. 1480
WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge has sharply rebuked Attorney General William Barr's handling of the special counsel's Russia report. U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton says Barr made a “calculated effort" to spin the investigation's findings in favor of President Donald Trump and showed a “lack of candor." He delivered the criticism in a 23-page ruling in which he said he would review an unredacted version of the Mueller report before deciding what additional information from the document should be publicly disclosed. Walton says he needs to review the document itself because he cannot trust that the Justice Department's redactions of the report were made in good faith. 691
