(CNN) -- An American woman has been charged with human trafficking after allegedly trying to smuggle a six-day-old baby out of the Philippines.At a press conference by the Philippines National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Thursday, International Airport Investigation Division chief Manuel Dimaano said the 43-year-old U.S. woman had used a sling bag to allegedly hide the baby while passing through immigration, and did not provide any documentation for the child.Dimaano said that after immigration, the woman allegedly removed the baby from the bag and was carrying it when she tried to board her Delta Airlines flight at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport.Philippines authorities were contacted when the woman couldn't provide documentation for the child when asked by Delta Airlines crew at the boarding gate."She has been charged with a violation of the Anti-trafficking in Persons Act of 2003," NBI spokesperson Auralyn Pascual said."The child's situation must have been very difficult during the time that he was put inside that bag."Dimaano said the mother had been contacted by authorities and would be charged. Police have not been able to find the child's father, he added.The Philippines Bureau of Immigration first announced on Wednesday that it had detained the woman. CNN Philippines reported that when discovered, she claimed to be the child's aunt.The NBI said the woman allegedly carried the baby from Davao to Manila, before attempting to fly out of the country. Specialty Produce delivers to more than 700 San Diego restaurants and hotels seven days a week. 40 to 50 percent of the company’s produce comes from Mexico. If supplies aren’t available, prices will go up, according to owner Bob Harrington. “It’s a really bad idea really bad not to trade with Mexico,” Harrington says. Harrington sells 1,200 pounds of Mexican-grown basil a week in San Diego. If he bought the herb in the United States, the price would double. The cost of pineapples would go up 40 percent, Harrington estimates. Items like cucumbers, Roma tomatoes, strawberries, asparagus, and limes would be difficult to find without enough supply to meet the demand. “You won't get fresh limes at restaurants anymore.  The scooter-sharing startup Lime continues to clash with its suppliers amid questions about the safety of its scooters.Chinese company Okai is pushing back on claims that it's the source of flawed Lime scooters.Earlier this month, Lime said it removed all of its scooters manufactured by Okai following reports that the baseboard where users stand can snap in half and endanger riders. Some riders have suffered injuries, and an Okai scooter may have contributed to a fatality. Lime uses scooters from multiple manufacturers, but doesn't reveal exactly how many.In late October, Lime stated the baseboard on its Okai models could break if ridden off a curb at high speeds.Okai said Friday Lime's claims are "groundless" and the faulty scooters come from another supplier."We feel it necessary to make cautions to the public on the credibility of such statements made by Lime," Okai said in a statement sent to CNN Business on Friday. "Obviously, Lime has other suppliers whose scooters broke."Lime declined to comment on whether it has recalled scooters from other manufacturers.Photos on social media and in news reports revealed Lime scooters with broken floorboards -- some of which match images of the scooter model Okai says it provided to Lime.
