SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A scary looking fish with dagger-like teeth was discovered Wednesday on the shores of Dog Beach in Ocean Beach. The four-foot-long fish isn't something people usually find while fishing off a local pier or even walking along the coast. And before imaginations run wild, it isn't a monster — well, not quite.The fish is a lancetfish, which typically call the dark depths of the ocean home. Not a lot is known about the mysterious fish, according to NOAA, save for information on their diets and places they call home. And despite their place in the ocean's depths, fisherman may sometimes catch more lancetfish than tuna or mahi. NOAA says the fish is actually the most common bycatch in their fisheries, besides blue sharks.You may not want to try grilling up the fish either. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A U.S. Marine stationed at MCAS Miramar has tested presumptive positive for coronavirus after returning from leave in Washington state.The Marine was returning to the base from leave in Washington state where he was visiting family, which is where officials believe he contracted the virus, officials on base familiar with the matter told 10News.A high level source in the military added that the Marine was tested on base for the virus after feeling ill and placed into quarantine while results were pending. The Marine is currently at home under quarantine, off base, that source added.A second Marine who returned from leave in Washington with the first service member is currently considered a person under investigation at Camp Pendleton. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - After weeks of large crowds, no masks or social distancing in Ocean Beach, the City of San Diego put together a compliance team to educate people about the county’s public health order.A team of about 12 people consisting of code compliance, parking enforcement, and park rangers handed out face masks to those who didn’t have them on and asked for compliance.“There was unacceptable levels of people coming together, congregating together getting really, really close without masks or social distancing,” said Joel Day, the senior advisor for COVID Response and Recovery with the City of San Diego. “We’re asking people don’t congregate here, please wear a mask if you’re around other people, and please socially distance and so far it’s looking pretty great.”Within one hour, Day said the team handed out about 300 masks.Earlier in the day, residents noted that Veterans Plaza in Ocean Beach appeared to be less crowded. But as the sun went down, the drum circle returned, and so did the crowds. They cleared out by about 10:30 PM.Resident Tim Johnson said home and business owners have had to deal with the same scene repeatedly. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Valencia Park dog owner is looking for the person that took his dog from his front yard Tuesday morning. Jayden Ryan’s five-month-old french bulldog, Greyson, was last seen playing in their driveway. His security camera shows Greyson walking over to the fence, but then the camera jumps to footage of a man wearing a hood walking away, and he appeared to be carrying the dog in his arms. Ryan says there were about three to four minutes of missing footage, that might have shown the man’s face, as well as how he ended up with his dog. He says the camera company told him there was an issue on the way the video uploaded. However, a neighbor saw the incident. He told Ryan, as well as 10News, that he saw the hooded man reach over the fence, pet the dog for about a minute, then grab him and walk away. The security footage picked up audio of the neighbor yelling at the hooded stranger and then chasing after him. “(My neighbor) says he tried to run after him, but he is 54 years old. He was no match for him, so he ended up getting away,” Ryan said. Neighbors said they recently saw the man in the neighborhood. Ryan says French bulldogs are expensive so they can be enticing to thieves. He would be surprised if he were casing the neighborhood. Ryan is putting up fliers, hoping someone will have information about Greyson, or the man in the video. “They didn’t just steal my dog, they stole the happiness from me,” Ryan said. San Diego Police say no suspects have been identified at this time and no arrests have been made. 1561

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Aaron Juarez sat stone-faced as a public defender tried to convince a South Bay judge he's not a flight risk; especially not to Mexico. The deputy district attorney says Juarez, 20, is a gang member recently sentenced to probation on a firearms conviction. The judge ordered him held without bail for violating his probation, but he's wanted in Tijuana for allegedly murdering his stepmom. "They used to have a good relationship before, but after he starts with his drug problems and his gang problems, she was kind of, scared," said Erika Gonzalez, the victim's sister.RELATED: Man suspected of killing, burying stepmother in Tijuana backyard may be in U.S.After getting an anonymous tip, the family of Fernanda Gonzalez Serrano found her body buried in the backyard of her home in Tijuana last month. He declined to talk with the media Monday afternoon. "It really hurts that they can support someone like that.
