(KGTV) -- Two people died early Sunday morning after a wrong-way driver crashed head-on into another vehicle shortly after a pursuit.The incident began when Valley Center Sheriff’s Deputies located a Honda Accord reported stolen out of Escondido.Deputies began pursuing the vehicle but, due to weather conditions and speed, decided to end the pursuit.RELATED: CHP investigates scene of fatal wrong-way crash on I-5 off-rampAuthorities continued to track the suspect using areal support. VACAVILLE, Calif. (AP) — Crews were battling wildfires in the San Francisco Bay Area and thousands of people were under orders to evacuate Wednesday as hundreds of wildfires blazed across the state amid a blistering heat wave now in its second week. Gov. Gavin Newsom blamed the extraordinary weather and thousands of lightning strikes for 367 known fires, including 23 major fires or groups of fires. He said the state has recorded nearly 11,000 lightning strikes in 72 hours. Ash and smoke filled the air over San Francisco, which is surrounded by wildfires burning in multiple counties to the north, east and south. 626

(KGTV) — An East County diagnosed with early dementia disappeared from his home late Friday, sheriff's deputies say.William Cannon, 84, was last seen Friday at about 9 p.m. driving away from his home in a white Toyota Prius. According to Cannon's son, he has been diagnosed with early stages of dementia.Cannon is described as a Caucasian male, standing about 5-foot 10-inches, weighing 150 pounds, with grey hair, and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat with the letters "SR71", a beige or white windbreaker jacket, blue jeans, and tennis shoes.His Toyota has the California license plate 7TJT465.Anyone with information is asked to call the San Diego Sheriff's Department at 858-565-5200. 861
