BOSTON (AP) — A Boston veterinary hospital got quite a surprise recently when a family brought in their bulldog after he stopped eating.The Angell Animal Medical Center found 19 baby pacifiers in the dog's stomach.It started in April when the Wellesley family noticed that their 3-year-old dog, Mortimer, started getting nauseous before meals. His owner, Emily Shanahan, brought Mortimer to the vet, who prescribed medicine to take care of the issue.But it didn't help and Mortimer eventually stopped eating entirely.Shanahan went to Angell, where they took an X-ray and discovered the pacifiers.Vets think Mortimer had been taking the pacifiers from Shanahan's two children over the course of months.The pacifiers were removed using a medical scope that did not require surgery. Blockbuster founder Wayne Huizenga has died. He was the only entrepreneur to create three different Fortune 500 companies during his career -- Blockbuster video, Waste Management and AutoNation.At one time, Huizenga, 80, had owned three sports teams where he lived in South Florida -- the Florida Marlins, the Florida Panthers and the Miami Dolphins. He was worth .8 billion, according to Forbes."He had a magic ability to create a business that was unmatched," said AutoNation CEO Mike Jackson, who confirmed the death. "Ideas were exploding in his head. He was bound and determined to out entrepreneur every other entrepreneur."Huizenga was awarded expansion franchises to bring both the National Hockey League and Major League Baseball to Miami in 1993. The following year he purchased the Miami Dolphins. While he owned the three sports teams at the same time, he didn't run all three major companies simultaneously. Instead he would sell one company and move onto the next idea he had."He started out on the back of a garbage truck in Fort Lauderdale. Then he bought a truck, and eventually he created Waste Management," said Jackson. "Then he rented a video and decided he could do better and next thing you know he was opening up Blockbuster store a day. Then he sold that to Viacom and decided there had to be a better way to buy a car and he created AutoNation."Blockbuster closed all of its stores in four years ago as consumers shifted to streaming and on demand video, but his other two companies remain dominant players in their respective fields. BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Red Sox has rehired Alex Cora as manager.The team decided about a week after Cora finished the one-year suspension handed down by Commissioner Rob Manfred for sign-stealing while he was the bench coach in Houston in 2017.The move returns him to the Boston dugout less than a year after the ballclub let him go because of his role in the Houston Astros cheating scandal.Major League Baseball said the Astros decoded pitch signs by using their video replay system. To alert the batter, members of the Astros would relay the information with a noise, which included banging a trash can.The Red Sox dismissed Cora in January.In April, after an investigation into the Red Sox, MLB stripped the Red Sox of their second-round pick in this year's amateur draft for breaking video rules in 2018. The league suspended then-former manager Cora through the 2020 postseason, the Associated Press reported.Per the AP, MLB also suspended the Red Sox's replay system operator J.T. BROWARD COUNTY, Florida — The brother of the accused Parkland shooter told deputies he went to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School three times since his brother allegedly committed a deadly shooting there in February, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.“I just went there to take it all in,” Zachary Cruz can be heard saying to deputies on recently released Broward Sheriff’s Office body worn camera footage. Cruz was arrested for trespassing on school grounds on March 19 despite being warned to keep away from the school, according to a BSO report.Over the radio, a deputy relayed that the brother of the deadly school shooting suspect was spotted riding through the Parkland school campus on his skateboard.The Broward Sheriff's Office released body-worn camera footage and radio transmission from their investigation into Cruz for trespassing.  In the video, Cruz is seen talking to deputies on the side of 10100 Holmberg Road in Parkland. Deputies say multiple people told law enforcement they saw Cruz riding on his skateboard at Stoneman Douglas High.“You can't go on the school property," a deputy told Cruz in the video. Deputies search his backpack, which he said was filled with clothes.Cruz said he was “taking a break” from school and left when he was in the eleventh grade. He told deputies a friend dropped him off there.Deputies have Cruz sit on the ground, with his skateboard nearby, place him in handcuffs and then put him in the back of a patrol car. He was later booked into the Broward County Jail.A Broward judge set Cruz’s bond for 0,000 for trespassing. Trespassing is a misdemeanor that usually carries only a bond. If released, he’s ordered to wear an ankle monitor, stay away from any school, and the suburban Lantana home where he’s living will be searched for guns and ammunition.The Broward Sheriff’s Office is asking a judge for a “risk protection order” to ban Cruz from purchasing or possessing any guns or ammunition for a year. The order has temporarily been granted and a judge is expected to make a final decision in April. 2109

(KGTV) - A nine hour standoff in Bonita has finally come to an end.Deputies have taken 37-year-old James Gilbert, who was wanted for a domestic violence incident, into custody.He has been booked into San Diego Central Jail on charges of making threats with a weapon, making terrorist threats and resisting arrest.Gilbert refused to come out of the home for hours.A San Diego Sheriff's Department SWAT team brought in two BearCats, made multiple flyovers with a helicopter and even called in a bomb squad.Two blocks of Allen School lane were blocked off all day due to the incident.Witnesses say a man believed to be the suspects brother tried running past the Sheriff's tape, ignoring deputies who tried to stop him.That man was handcuffed and taken into custody.Nearby Ella B. Allen Elementary School and Daly Academy were put on heightened security in light of the crisis. Children left the campuses safely after school let out.
