(KGTV) — A vehicle crashed into an East County restaurant Wednesday, before the driver fled on foot and left behind a massive mess.The vehicle careened through the Ali Baba restaurant at 421 E. Main St. before 2:30 p.m., before the driver fled the scene a short distance to park the vehicle and continued to flee on foot, according to El Cajon Police.No one in the building was injured, but photos from Thair Behnan, the manager of the restaurant, showed a massive mess of shattered glass and wall.The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, wearing a white shirt, and jeans.Anyone with information on the incident or who locates the suspect is asked to call El Cajon Police at 619-579-3311. 718

(KGTV) - The man charged with the brutal beating of an El Cajon Police officer inside a KFC appeared at a preliminary hearing in court Wednesday.Officer Jose Sioson was preparing to question Daniel Cook about stealing sodas from a Dollar Tree store when Cook attacked him at the restaurant on Fletcher Parkway, police said.MTS bus driver Iesha Booker witnessed the attack and grabbed the officer’s own radio to call for help when he was knocked unconscious.“I just grabbed his walkie talkie. I didn't know how to work it, I just grabbed it and just kept screaming in there they have an officer down, they have an officer down,” Booker said.Officer Sioson was taken to the hospital and released after several surgeries. The other was burned and buried next to a pet cemetery on the property.The documents also state that in the days before JJ's and Tylee's disappearance, Lori Daybell referred to her children as "zombies" in a conversation with a friend.Lori Daybell said part of her and her husband's religious beliefs was a mission to "rid the world of zombies."The document states that a "zombie refers to an individual whose mortal spirit has left their body and that their body is now the host of another spirit."Lori Daybell told a friend that JJ had become a zombie, loved Satan, and that the boy's "an increased vocabulary" was also evidence that JJ was a zombie. EL CAJON (CNS) - A man suspected of killing his husband at their Mount Helix home pleaded not guilty Friday to a murder charge.Daniel Scott Jordan, 45, is accused in the slaying of 38-year-old Kevin Powell, a Chula Vista city employee whose body was found in the couple's Carmen Drive residence on Aug. 11.Chula Vista police found Powell's body while conducting a welfare check, sheriff's Lt. Thomas Seiver said.
