DENVER — A 16-year-old girl killed her 7-year-old nephew after the boy threw a fit when the girl refused to play video games with him, according to court documents.Seven-year-old Jordan Vong went missing on Aug. 6. His body was found a day later when FBI agents and police obtained a warrant to enter his family’s Montbello home a day later.According to a probable cause statement, the 16-year-old girl accused of killing her nephew told police she pushed Jordan off her bed after he refused to move and amid a crying fit. She then “placed her hand over Jordan's mouth and plugged his nose as Jordan began to struggle for a few minutes."The girl, whom authorities have not yet identified, was arrested last Wednesday after Vong’s body was discovered inside his family’s home Aug. 7, the day after he was killed. On Monday, she was charged with first-degree murder and felony child abuse charges.According to the document, the teenage suspect told police that on Aug. 6, Vong went down to her basement bedroom and asked her to play video games with him. When she refused, the boy became upset and laid down on her bed, the document read. She said this made her angry, which caused her to push the boy off her bed “causing him to strike his face on the floor,” the statement read. The document said after Jordan stopped moving, the girl told police she put the body underneath her bed before removing it, wrapping it in a blanket and placing it in a portable closet in her room.She told investigators that she did not say a word to family members about what she allegedly did or where the body was hidden. Vong’s body was found by authorities in the portable closet Tuesday evening amid the execution of a search warrant.According to the probable cause statement, Vong’s body was found with a “towel and comforter around his head, biological matter and blood about his nose, and an unknown imprint on Vong’s chest.” He was first reported missing around 4:30 p.m. Monday.Police said the victim’s mother called 911 and reported her son missing. She told police she last saw Vong in the living room of their residence using his tablet computer.The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner said Monday it had determined Vong’s manner of death was homicide, but that his cause of death was “still pending.” 2349

Deputies arrested a Palm Beach County bookkeeper Saturday on accusations of stealing money from her employer to pay for a new vehicle.Erma Rios, 26, of suburban West Palm Beach, wrote and signed company checks to purchase a Land Rover from a dealership, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report.Rios’ boss reported more than ,000 missing from the bank account of his Palm Beach Gardens business in January 2017.Bank records show Rios, a bookkeeper at the business, allegedly wrote out two checks to a used car dealership in December 2016.The first check written out by Rios was a ,000 down payment addressed to the used car dealership for a 2011 Land Rover, an arrest report states. The second check was written out a few weeks later as a final payment to the car dealership for ,000.Deputies interviewing a car salesman report him saying he sold the vehicle to Rios. He said she wrote and signed the checks, and then presented them to his as payment, he said in the report.Court records show a warrant for Rios arrest was signed in April 2017.One year later, she was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. Death Wish Coffee Company is issuing a recall of their nitro brew cans because of the potential growth of a deadly toxin.According to the Food and Drug Administration, the company recalled 11oz. Death Wish Nitro Cold Brew cans because the current process could lead to the growth and production of botulin.Botulism is a potentially fatal form of food poisoning and can cause symptoms like weakness, dizziness, double vision, difficult breathing and more.They have halted the production of the Nitro Cold Brew until an additional step in the manufacturing process is implemented.They have also removed cans from the comapny's online stores.The company said they will make sure everyone who bought the product on their website receives a full refund within 60 days.So far, no illnesses have been reported. 811

Delta is partnering with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to become the first airline to launch a contact tracing initiative for international travelers arriving in the United States.Beginning Dec. 15, the Atlanta-based carrier will ask all customers to voluntarily provide their contact information for "contact tracing and public health follow-up efforts.""This will give the CDC access to the data in moments, dramatically decreasing the time it takes to notify affected customers via local health departments," Delta said in a press release.Each passenger will need to provide their full name, both a physical and email address, as well as two phone numbers.Once a passenger fills out the form, Delta will securely forward the information to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, who will pass it along to the CDC."This will give the CDC access to the data in moments, dramatically decreasing the time it takes to notify affected customers via local health departments," the company said.However, this program will not pertain to the carrier's quarantine-free flight trial to Italy, which Delta announced last week.Through a partnership with the Aeroporti de Roma and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Delta will have a first-of-its-kind trans-Atlantic COVID-19 testing program.Delta said that participating consumers eligible to travel would be granted an exemption from quarantine restrictions on arrival into Italy. 1448
