CHICAGO, Ill. – Stone carving is a tradition going to the wayside as technology takes over. Right now, there are only a few dozen stone carvers remaining across the United States. Among them is Walter S. Arnold in Chicago. “I am a sculptor and a stone carver. Throughout history, Arnold says our earliest records of civilization come to us through carving and it has been a part of civilizations all over the world throughout history as a way to communicate. “The painter Delacroix, a French painter in the 1800s, once said that the last few brush strokes that will finish a painting and kill it. So, in a way for me, the last few chisel strokes are when I pass it on from me and then it becomes your responsibility to see which piece appeals to you or speaks to you or is important to you.”Arnold says his message is to look at the world with a sense of wonderment, to see things that you don’t expect “To be delighted and surprised, to see the world in three dimensions.” 2089

Chicago Police have released dozens of hours of footage from the investigation into the attack Jussie Smollett reported he suffered.In one of the videos, Smollett is seen with a noose around his neck as police arrive at his apartment to begin the investigation. Smollett then requested the officers turn off their body cameras. Chicago Police claim that Smollett fabricated a story that he was involved in an attack fueled by race and homophobia. They claim that Smollett orchestrated a fake assault involving two men, who have seen their charges dropped. After initially being charged by prosecutors for 16 counts of felony disorderly conduct, Smollett's charges were dropped. Chicago Police, however, stand by their allegations, and has ordered Smollett to repay the costs associated with the investigation. Domino's Pizza announced on Monday that it is partnering with robotics company Nuro to create a pizza delivery vehicle that is autonomous. The unmaned vehicle known as R2 will begin delivering pizzas later this year as part of a test. Domino's said it is rolling out the technology at select locations in the Houston area. Customers in the select areas will be given the option of having their pizza delivered by R2. They will then be given a pin to unlock the pizza from a compartment. Customers can also track the location of the R2 using Domino's smartphone app. "We are always looking for new ways to innovate and evolve the delivery experience for our customers," said Kevin Vasconi, Domino's executive vice president and chief information officer.
