Nevada Highway Patrol has found the driver who hit one of their patrol cars on Monday.It happened around 5:03 p.m. local time Monday. A trooper was conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 95 northbound near Summerlin Parkway. Both vehicles were stopped on the right shoulder when another vehicle disregarded the Move Over Law and hit the trooper's vehicle.The collision resulted in the door being almost torn off. The driver of the other vehicle kept going.After the hit-and-run driver was found Tuesday, the person was ticketed but not arrested. She was issued citations for driving without a valid license, hit-and-run property damage and failure to stop and render aid, all misdemeanors.Fortunately, the trooper was not injured.NHP released body-camera video of the incident.  801

NEW YORK CITY — An illegal party on a New York City cruise ship was shut down early Sunday morning, city sheriff's deputies said.The Liberty Belle, which is operated by Empire Cruises, was spotted on Saturday departing from Pier 36 in Manhattan with dozens of people aboard, according to officials and photos of the boat.The person who posted the photo on Twitter said it appeared no one was wearing masks or social distancing.Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer said her office would contact city and state agencies regarding the incident.The Sheriff's Office later said its deputies intercepted the owners and captain of the ship and arrested them for operating an illegal party in violation of social distancing provisions in the city and state emergency executive orders as well as other charges.A request for comment from Empire Cruises was not immediately returned.The company stopped operations in March because of the COVID-19 outbreak and a city emergency executive order, according to its website.This story was originally published by Lauren Cook on WPIX in New York City. 1095

Scholastic says Cole, a resident of Sioux City, Iowa, died Sunday. With the ever maddening but inspired Ms. Frizzle leading her students on journeys that explored everything from the solar system to underwater, “Magic School Bus” books have sold tens of millions of copies and were the basis for a popular animated TV series and a Netflix series. North Korea has been sending supplies to Syria that could be used to produce chemical weapons, a United Nations Security Council diplomat has told CNN.Speaking on condition of anonymity, the diplomat said that North Korea had sent acid-resistant tiles, valves and thermometers to Syria.
