It is a joyous time for Virginia junior guard Kyle Guy. Not only is Guy getting to participate in this weekend's Final Four, Guy is engaged to get married. But it turns out one joyous occasion is playing havoc with another one. Guy and his fiancee removed their wedding registry after a link to their registry became public. According to the Washington Post, Guy said he was told that having a wedding registry would affect Guy's college eligibility. So no wedding registry, at least not yet. “Yeah, that was crazy to me that that’s illegal because that’s what a registry’s for,” Guy told the media on Thursday. “Yeah, NCAA said it was illegal, so I’m not going to argue with it right now. I’m going to try to win a national championship, and we’ll open that book.”Apparently Guy had launched the registry -- no word on where they're registered -- which became public knowledge through the Busted Coverage sports blog, the Post reported. The blog's founder then received a cease and desist letter from the university claiming that sharing the registry link could cause Guy to lose his eligibility. That's when Guy and his fiancee removed the registry. But NCAA President Mark Emmert said a registry is permissible as long as it is private. "Nobody in the NCAA said anything of the sort," Emmert told USA Today. "We don't know what the source of that information was. ... It's certainly not the case that it's a violation of NCAA rules." A university spokesperson told the USA Today that the university does not "desire to interrupt typical gift giving practices." 1575

In response to the Supreme Court's ruling that his administration cannot include a question asking about citizenship on the 2020 Census under the reasoning the Trump administration provided, President Donald Trump Thursday called for the census to be delayed."Seems totally ridiculous that our government, and indeed Country, cannot ask a basic question of Citizenship in a very expensive, detailed and important Census, in this case for 2020. I have asked the lawyers if they can delay the Census, no matter how long, until the United States Supreme Court is given additional information from which it can make a final and decisive decision on this very critical matter. Can anyone really believe that as a great Country, we are not able the ask whether or not someone is a Citizen. Only in America!" Trump said in a span of two tweets. As part of its ruling, the Supreme Court said the Trump administraiton could offer a new explanation for including a citizenship test, but that it's unlikely the administration would be able to do so before the next census begins in 2020.The US Census was set up in Article 1, Section 2 of the Constitution. It's taken place on time every 10 years since 1790. The census, or counting of the population, determines how many seats each state receives in the House of Representatives and helps states determine district maps. 1371

J.D. Salinger thought of including his generation’s idea of a trigger alert as he worked on “The Catcher in the Rye.”In an early draft of the 1951 novel, narrator Holden Caulfield warns that the story will include “quite a bit of swearing and sex stuff.” But Salinger himself drew a large “X’ over the passage and wrote “delete” in the margins.”The manuscript is part of a Salinger exhibit which opens Friday and continues through Jan. 19 at the New York Public Library’s historic 5th Avenue branch in Manhattan. The display also includes family photographs, letters and other rarities from the famously private author, who died in 2010.The exhibit, titled “JD Salinger,” draws from archives made available by Salinger’s family and helps mark the centennial of his birth. 782
