Norwegian Cruise Lines announced they are extending their suspension of all cruises until at least March 2021, as coronavirus cases remain high in the US and around the world. In a statement released Wednesday, Norwegian said all trips departing between January 1 and February 28 as well as “select voyages in March 2021” will be suspended. The suspension also applies to Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises through March 31, 2021.“Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. … today announces an extension of its previously announced suspension of global cruise voyages as the Company continues to work through its return to service plan to meet the requirements of the Framework for Conditional Sailing Order issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” the statement reads.Norwegian now has the longest suspension of major cruise operators. Carnival and Royal Caribbean announced last month they would suspend voyages through January 2021. Some Carnival voyages are canceled through February. The CDC lifted a no-sail order at the end of October, however a few days later, the Cruise Lines International Association, which represents about 95 percent of cruise operators, issued a statement that they would voluntarily suspend voyages through the end of the year, at least. Then a few days before Thanksgiving, the CDC warned Americans about traveling on cruises and the potential for contracting COVID-19. This followed a positive COVID-19 case on a Bahamas-based cruise voyage in early November. When the CDC lifted their order they announced a tiered approach, which would include cruises with a select group of volunteers to test COVID-19 safety protocols before passengers would be allowed. No word on when those would begin. 1758

On Monday, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a new Public Health Disaster proclamation that imposes a number of additional public health measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. These new measures will be effective at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17 and will continue until 11:59 p.m. on December 10, 2020.The proclamation requires that when people are in an indoor public space, and unable to social distance for 15 minutes or longer, masks are required to be worn. The same requirements apply to visitors and employees inside state buildings. Additional mask requirements are imposed for certain specific establishments and gatherings. The proclamation also limits indoor social, community, business and leisure gatherings or events to 15 people. Outdoor gatherings are limited to 30. This includes wedding and funeral receptions, family gatherings and conventions. But it does not restrict gatherings that occur in the workplace as part of normal daily business or government operations. With the exception of high school, collegiate and professional sports, all organized youth and adult sports activities of any size are suspended. This includes basketball, wrestling, gymnastics, swimming, dance, and group fitness classes at gyms. While high school sports and extracurricular activities are not prohibited, spectators at games or events are limited to 2 per student and are required to wear a mask.Restaurants, bars, bowling alleys, arcades, pool halls, bingo halls, and indoor playgrounds are required to close at 10 p.m. and cannot host private gatherings of more than 15 people. Masks must be worn by staff who have direct contact with customers, and customers must wear masks when they are not seated at their table to eat or drink. The proclamation also requires masks inside casinos. The proclamation also requires hospitals to ensure that inpatient elective procedures are reduced by 50 percent. This article was written by KMTV. 1948

O'FALLON, Mo. (AP) — A judge on Thursday disqualified the St. Louis prosecutor from the case involving Mark McCloskey, who along with his wife pointed guns at racial injustice protesters marching on the private street near their home in June. Circuit Judge Thomas Clark II dismissed Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, citing two campaign fundraising emails around the time she filed felony gun charges against the couple in July. Clark said the emails created the appearance of a political motive for the prosecution. The decision means a special prosecutor will be appointed to take over the case. 601

OCEANSIDE (CNS) - Police responded to a reported shooting behind Oceanside High School early Saturday but weren't able to locate any potential suspects or victims, an officer said.Dispatchers received several calls around 2:30 a.m. reporting the sound of gunshots near the intersection of Division Street and Central Avenue, Oceanside Police Lt. Kedrick Sadler said. Officers headed to the scene and were able to find shell casings on the ground in the area, indicating a shooting had occurred, but couldn't find anyone associated with the incident, Sadler said.A vehicle reportedly was seen speeding from the area, but police could not provide a description. Investigators believe the shooting may be gang-related, Sadler said. 741

ORIENTAL, N.C. – A Navy veteran says his Chihuahua mix saved his life.Rudy Armstrong was on his houseboat in Oriental, North Carolina, when he suffered a stroke, according to CarolinaEast Health System.Luckily, Armstrong’s dog, Bubu, was there and sprang into action.“He and Bubu have a special bond and when Rudy couldn’t get to his phone to call for help, he looked his little friend in the eyes and said ‘I need help. Go get Kim,’” wrote the hospital in a Facebook post.Immediately, the hospital says Bubu ran off to get Kim, the area dockmaster, who called 911.
