I’m not saying it’s you,” the deputy said, telling Griffin he wanted to check in with other deputies at the scene.In the video, you can hear the deputies radio fellow investigators and double check the description. The deputy later tells Griffin he is being told to detain him. The deputy offers to hold Griffin’s phone to continue recording the incident while he is handcuffed.Griffin remains handcuffed for several minutes while deputies wait for confirmation if he is the suspect or not. Griffin stays calm and talks to the deputies during this time.“Seven cop cars, with everything going on, it’s just a little bit scary,” Griffin says. The deputies agree, but say “see it through our eyes,” since he matches the description. “Do you think we want to be out here killing people?”Eventually, Griffin is let go and it is determined he was not the suspect deputies were looking for. A federal judge in San Diego on Friday called the Trump administration's plan outlining how the US government intends to reunite migrant children who were separated from their families with parents who have been deported "very impressive."US officials will first work to determine parentage and resolve any safety concerns for the child and then seek to reunite families. The submitted plan said there are 365 separated children with parents outside the US in the care of the Department of Health and Human Services, but officials later corrected that number.Scott Stewart, deputy assistant attorney general, said during a 40-minute joint status call Friday afternoon among the judge, the government, the American Civil Liberties Union and other nongovernmental organizations assisting with reunifications of separated families that the government actually has 386 children in its custody whose parents were deported. A candidate for mayor in a Texas town outside Dallas is facing voter fraud charges after allegedly sending in 84 applications for ballots.Zul Mohamed is a mayoral candidate in Carrolton. He now faces 25 counts of knowingly possessing a ballot with intent to defraud and 84 counts of providing false information on a voting application, according to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.Paxton’s office alleges Mohamed “obtained a virtual mailbox using a false identity, forged at least 84 voter registration applications for unwitting Denton residents and had them sent to a fraudulent location.”When he was arrested, Mohamed was reportedly in the process of stuffing envelopes with additional mail ballot applications for a nearby county.County officials began their investigation after Denton County officials noticed several absentee ballots were being mailed to the same post office box, according to the Texas Tribune.It is not clear from the investigation if any ballots were actually cast or mailed in.If Mohamed is found guilty, he could face up to 20 years in prison. 1081
