The company’s second quarter report shows a 14 percent increase in sales during the first half of 2020 over the same time period last year.“During the first half, we saw the benefits of our investments in long-term growth initiatives such as e-commerce and product innovation,” the LEGO Group CEO, Niels B. Christiansen said in a statement.He also thanked employees and colleagues who did “everything they could to stay safe and bring play to children and families around the world.”Despite citing growth in e-commerce, LEGO is planning to open dozens of new stores yet this year.The toy company announced they are still on track to open 120 new stores in 2020, with about 80 of them based in China. Police in Delray Beach, Florida are looking for the person accused of attacking a 60-year-old man with a skateboard Sunday afternoon. The victim told police that a younger man used a skateboard as a weapon after the two exchanged words just before noon in the Dotterel Road neighborhood.The victim said he and his wife were walking around their property when they encountered a young man in a dark t-shirt, baggy shorts and dark skater sneakers.The victim's wife told police that she took a picture of the suspect because they have had problems with young men on skateboards damaging cars in the parking lot.The man with the skateboard told the victim to move, but he refused.Police said the suspect swung the skateboard, missing the victim, who fell to the ground. As he got up, he told officers that he unsuccessfully tried to push the attacker away. However the suspect, holding the skateboard in both hands, hit the man on the left side of his head, leaving him with a cut on his left ear and swelling on his head. Delray Beach Fire Rescue treated the victim at the scene of the attack. 1163

Paying rent is increasingly a struggle for many Americans, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.Workers need to make almost an hour on average to afford a modest 1-bedroom apartment and about an hour for a 2-bedroom, according to a new report by the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC).“So, if it was the case before that millions of low wage workers were struggling to afford their rent, we anticipate that many more will be unable to now and may not be able to hold onto their homes,” said Dan Threet, an NLIHC research analyst.It’s not just a large metro area problem either. In almost every county nationwide, a full-time minimum wage job isn't enough to cover a 1-bedroom apartment.And when it comes to disparities, the numbers tell the story. About 44% of Black Americans and 42% of Latinx are rent burdened, meaning they spend more than 30% of their income on housing. Police Chief Mike Koval in Madison, Wisconsin arrested WISC-TV Meteorologist Dave Caufield during a live newscast for "stealing spring," according to the station.Koval and Capt.
