SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A stolen Mustang was found abandoned and on fire in Paradise Hills.It happened just before 4 a.m. Monday on Valley Road along State Route 54.The car fire spread to the nearby brush, which made its way up the hillside towards the SR-54.Fire crews had the blaze knocked down in about 15 minutes. No structures were threatened. Investigators believe the car may have been intentionally set on fire. 423

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An autopsy performed on the teenager known as McSkillet is providing details about his mental state before he crashed his McLaren on Interstate 805 in San Diego, killing a mother and daughter.Trevor Heitmann, 18, died on August 23 when he drove the wrong way on the freeway in University City at 100 miles an hour. Heitmann’s sports car crashed into an SUV, killing Aileen Pizarro, 43, and her 12-year-old daughter Aryana. The California Highway Patrol reported that video of the impact shows Heitmann did not attempt to swerve before hitting the SUV.The San Diego County Medical Examiner said Heitmann suffered 11 types of blunt force injuries in the crash. Toxicology tests did not detect any alcohol or common drugs, doctors said. Heitmann's death was ruled accidental by officials. He was banned earlier this year from trading skins with other players by the video game's developer, Valve. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Scripps Ranch woman who contacted Team 10 about problems with her Samsung refrigerator is now receiving a full refund after Team 10’s story aired.Stephanie Nivinskus bought her Samsung french door refrigerator in December 2014. It cost her nearly ,000. She said she had issues roughly six months after she bought it. "It's been a headache since the beginning," Nivinskus told Team 10 in September.The first problem was the ice maker does not function properly, according to Nivinskus."The ice just gathers and collects up there. It makes it so it doesn't work," Nivinskus said.She also has issues with the temperature of the refrigerator. The FDA says a safe temperature inside a refrigerator is 40 degrees or below. During the initial interview with Team 10, the thermometer inside of Nivinskus' refrigerator read about 56 degrees."Having spoiled food is a real problem," she said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A water culvert in Logan Heights overflowed Thursday night due to heavy rain, leaving neighbors with a mess Friday, many homes destroyed from all the water.Ruben Cortez’s home got filled with about a foot of water. Initially the water just piled up outside his sliding glass door, “the water was up to here so it looked like I was inside an aquarium”. After 20 minutes water came through the front and back doors, soon filling the entire house.Cortez and his wife are remodeling their home. One week ago they installed new flooring in their bedroom. After the flooding, the floor is completely ruined.The rest of the house has tile flooring and dirt and mud everywhere.His neighbors are also dealing with similar issues. Many parked their cars on the street and during the flooding the water filled up to the steering wheel.Most people in the neighborhood, along with Cortez himself, don’t have flooding insurance. He tells 10News, “its like getting snow insurance you don’t think anything like that is going to happen and this flood wasn’t really a typical flood, it was part of the drain that came out and flooded. You don’t think of those things”. Cortez wasn’t only worried about his own home, he’s also the pastor at the church next door. While the church was okay, the children’s classroom had water damage. The water also filled between a foot to two feet in the rooms.Left with a laundry list of things to fix, remodel and clean, Cortez tells 10News, “just count your blessings and the bad things as they come in, just face them one at a time." 1581
