LUTZ, Fla. — Sheriff's deputies say a man who broke into a WWE star's home on Sunday had hoped to take her hostage and said claim he had been planning the crime for eight months.The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said on early Sunday morning, the suspect, 24-year-old Phillip Thomas, entered a home at Promenade at Lake Park in Lutz.Detectives learned Thomas parked his car at Idle Wild Church earlier that night, walked to the house, cut a hole in the patio screen and remained there for about three to four hours. He was watching and listening through the windows, officials said.After the homeowner went to bed, Thomas came in through the back sliding door, which activated the home alarm. It prompted the homeowner to look out the window and spot Thomas.The homeowner and a guest left the house in a car and called 911.When deputies arrived, Thomas was still inside the house.According to public records, the house is owned by WWE wrestler Sonya Deville.Deputies discovered Thomas was carrying a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape, mace and other items.Through the investigation, detectives discovered Thomas lived in South Carolina and came to Lutz specifically targeting the Deville."We know the suspect was completely obsessed with the victim, and they had been trying to engage in a conversation for several years, but were unsuccessful. And then, Sunday night is when they tried to confront the victim," said Natalia Verdina, a public information officer with HCSO.Thomas told deputies he was planning to take the homeowner hostage."Our deputies are unveiling the suspect's disturbing obsession with this homeowner who he had never met, but stalked on social media for years," Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "It's frightening to think of all the ways this incident could have played out had the home alarm not gone off and alerted the homeowner of an intruder. Our deputies arrived within minutes and arrested this man who was clearly on a mission to inflict harm."Thomas was charged with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping and criminal mischief."I have spoken to her and I'm glad she's safe and I'm thankful and grateful that the sheriff's office took care of the situation immediately," fellow WWE star Titus O'Neil said in a statement. (WAVE) — An autopsy report revealed more details about the shooting death of Breonna Taylor.Taylor, 26, was shot multiple times by Louisville Metro Police Department narcotics officers serving a warrant just after midnight on March 13.Her autopsy was performed on March 14 at 8 a.m. at the Bingham Building.The autopsy showed Taylor was shot in the chest, which caused hemorrhages along the wound path; the right upper abdomen, in her left forearm, in her left thigh and in her right foot. An orange and gray metal projectile was also recovered from her right heel.Following the announcement of the grand jury decision in the case on Sept. 23, Attorney General Daniel Cameron said only one of those shots was fatal.Former LMPD Det. Brett Hankison was charged for shooting 10 rounds from outside Taylor’s apartment; some of those shots ended up in adjacent units, which was why he was indicted.Two other officers, Myles Cosgrove and Jon Mattingly, were found to be justified in their use of force, according to the grand jury.Cameron said evidence showed Mattingly fired six times, and Cosgrove fired 16 shots, and added that both were justified in returning fire after being fired upon. MARATHON, Fla. (AP) — Officials say a pregnant woman jumped into the water to save her 30-year-old husband when a shark latched onto his shoulder as he was snorkeling in the Florida Keys.The attack happened Sunday morning along Sombrero Reef, off Marathon. Andrew Eddy had just gotten into the water when the shark bit into him.Deputies say the Atlanta man's wife, Margot Dukes-Eddy, dove into the water without hesitation and pulled him to safety.Medics waiting on the beach flew Eddy to Miami for treatment. His condition wasn't available, but deputies described the injury to his shoulder as severe.No one else was injured by the shark.The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the shark was described by witnesses as being 8 to 10 feet long.“This was a very rare medical crisis for the Florida Keys, but everyone came together — including those witnesses on the boat to 911 Communicators to all our emergency responders — in order to ensure this victim received life-saving care,” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay in a press release. 1035
