Brad Bufanda, an actor best known for his roles in TV shows including "Veronica Mars" and "Co-Ed Confidential," has died after apparently taking his own life.Bufanda apparently jumped from a building in Los Angeles on Wednesday and died of "traumatic injuries," according to Variety.On Friday, TMZ reported that the 34-year-old actor left a suicide note that thanked some of the people in his life and mentioned his parents.Bufanda's manager told Variety she was "completely devastated for he was an extremely talented young actor and wonderful, caring human being." She said he'd been "reviving his career" and had just finished shooting two movies.He appeared in 23 movies and TV shows since 1995, according to IMDB. BRISTOL, Wis. -- For a fruit farmer who knew little about growing flowers, the pandemic was the perfect nudge to try something new. So, he plowed over his strawberry fields to plant a patch of sunshine and it’s grown beyond his wildest dreams.Scott Thompson’s family has been farming strawberries in Bristol, Wisconsin, for generations.“We've been around for a just about 100 years.”As the general manager of Thompson Strawberry Farms, he says they’ve adapted over time starting with apples and strawberries at first.“We've kind of morphed over the years where we have raspberries and pumpkins as well.”But this year, the pick-your-own farm traded the sweet fruits for something more picturesque.“This year is our first crack at pick your own sunflowers,” said Thompson.Even though Thompson knew very little about the bright yellow flower, he started out slow, until the pandemic hit and then had a thought.“This might be something that people might be really interested in. And so, I started planting. I did a small four-acre field then another four acres, then 10 acres. So, it just kind of grew, grew, grew.”He ended up planting not hundreds or thousands, but 2.2 million sunflower seeds across 22 acres of fields.“Having sunflowers is cool, but having a lot of sunflowers, that's really cool,” he said.For visitors like Sarah Akers and her 2-year-old son Xavier, it’s an eye-popping treat.“When they said how big it was, this is not what I was expecting,” said Akers. “It definitely is more impressive than what it sounds like when you just read about it.”It’s also a paradise for pollinators. Bees buzz from flower to flower. And with 15 fields, Thompson says it’s a great outing during the pandemic.“It's a perfectly natural social distancing activity,” said Thompson.The massive blooms have attracted visitors from all over the country. Debbie Berdinski, visiting from Alabama, was enthralled.“I love it. I think it's beautiful,” she said.And the decision to swap out strawberries for sunflowers has unexpectedly turned Thompson’s farm into his very own golden field of dreams.“You could really just go out and have a fun time and kind of forget about reality for a little bit,” he said. “Just enjoy being out here in this sea of yellow flowers.”And in a year like 2020, a little sunshine goes a long way. 2320

BOSTONIA (CNS) - A shooting at a marijuana dispensary near El Cajon left one person wounded Friday.The gunfire in the 1600 block of North Second Street in the unincorporated Bostonia community was reported shortly after 12 p.m., according to sheriff's officials.Following the shooting, the victim, believed to be about 16 years old, was driven out of the area and dropped off at a gas station about a mile to the south, Lt. Pat McEvoy said.Paramedics took the wounded youth, whose exact age and gender were not immediately available, to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment of wounds of undisclosed severity.Deputies took several people into custody at the dispensary for questioning and searched the area for the shooter by ground and aboard a patrol helicopter, McEvoy said. BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- A Bloomington, Ind. man is accused of holding a toddler under hot water as a punishment after the child soiled his diaper, causing severe burns.The investigation began on November 24, after the 2-year-old boy was transported to Riley Hospital for Children to be treated for multiple severe burns and other injuries.According to court documents, Dennis Tannen, 29, was watching his girlfriend’s son while she was at work when the child was burned.Tannen initially told police that he had put the child in the bathtub and left him for “10 seconds” and when he came back the child had turned on the hot water, burning himself.The child's mother said Tannen called her and she rushed home and found him “outside smoking a cigarette.” She told police that her son had large burn marks on his face that looked like his skin was falling off when she first saw him. They took the child to IU Bloomington Hospital where he was later transported to Riley Hospital for Children.The child was treated for severe burns on his face, lips, buttocks, and genitals. Riley doctors told police that the child also had suspicious bruising on his chest and face and that the child’s injuries did not match up the couple's story. After multiple rounds of questioning, Tannen eventually admitted to police that he was waiting for a phone call when the toddler had a bowel movement in his diaper. He said he became agitated and went to wash the child off in the bathtub, turning the water on “full hot” and holding him under it to wash him off.Tannen told police he also put the child’s face under the same hot water to wash and that the child had slipped when he was holding him and he grabbed him, which caused the bruises on the child’s chest.Tannen was arrested and charged with felony neglect of a dependent. 1833

The real answer here is to sit down and talk."During an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Thursday, Biden said that Democrats should support the bill, even though he says the legislation does not go far enough.“That would be a good start. The proposal would provide 0 in additional unemployment benefits for up to 18 weeks. The legislation also would replenish funds for the Paycheck Protection Program and for small businesses to help make payroll as a number of companies are being forced to close to help combat the spread of the coronavirus. The current proposal calls for 8 billion to go toward support for small businesses.There would also be 0 billion earmarked for state and local governments, which have seen a drop in tax revenue due to the pandemic.
