Chili’s warned customers Friday about a possible payment card data breach at restaurants.The chain says malware was used to gather payment card information including credit or debit card numbers and cardholder names. CINCINNATI — Ohio State Representative John Becker, R-Clermont County, has announced that he has filed articles of impeachment against Gov. Mike DeWine.Becker, who represents the suburbs outside of Cincinnati, drafted the articles back in August to “restore the rule of law” back to the state.On Monday, 12 articles of impeachment were issued by him, along with Reps. Candice Keller, Nino Vitale, and Paul Zeltwanger.All of the representatives that filed the articles were Republicans, just like DeWine.The articles allege DeWine has abused his power as governor and has violated both the Ohio and U.S. Constitutions as well as Ohio Revised Code in issuing COVID-19 health ordinances.“Rather than hearing the cries of Ohioans, Gov. DeWine continues to stifle those cries by finding more inventive ways to use masks to muffle the voices of the people,” Becker said. “He continues to have callous disregard for the fact that his isolation policies have led to a shockingly high number of suicides, alarming rates of drug abuse, persistently high unemployment, and the forced abandonment of the elderly by their loved ones.” 1129

(KGTV) - A South Bay public official is doubling down on anti-Muslim comments as he prepares a campaign to become Chula Vista's mayor.Hector Gastelum resisted calls to resign from the Otay District Water Board in 2017 after his tweets referred to Muslims as sub-human scum. He just qualified for the June run-off to become the Mayor of Chula Vista, the county's second largest city.In an interview, Gastelum said he isn't backing down from his prior controversial comments. "How can you not condemn rape? How can you not condemn pedophilia? Or throwing gays from the roof," Gastelum said, clarifying he is not referring to all Muslims. "If people don't like what I stand for, they can vote for the person that's going to take more taxes from them."Hanif Mohebi, who runs the San Diego chapter of the Council of American Islamic Relations, called Gastelum's comments bigoted and hateful."Are we referring to other criminals by their religion?" he said. "(Charleston church shooter) Dylan Roof and many others. Are we referring to others by their religion? If not, then why are we singling out this community and referring to them by their religion."Gastelum is running against Incumbent Mary Salas, teacher Arthur Kende, and Parks Supervisor Daniel Schreck for the seat. The top two vote-getters in June move on to a November runoff. Gastelum's campaign statement has no anti-Muslim comments. Instead, it talks about cutting taxes, eliminating Chula Vista's welcoming city program, and bringing Amazon back to the table to put its headquarters here. The Otay Water District board censured Gastelum last year. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - After hours of listening to public comment, the Chula Vista Planning Commission decided to table and continue an item that would bring a new recreational storage facility to the city's Eastlake area. The proposed facility would store 80 to 100 vehicles, like boats or RVs, on land between Eastlake High School and Antigua, a gated town-home community.Homeowners begged the planning commission to not accept the plans for the facility saying it would be an eyesore for their properties and lower their property values. The property manager of Titan Storage also made his case before the commissioners, citing the need for the facility in a part of town that is growing quickly. RV owners asked the commission to consider accepting the plan because they say surrounding RV lots are full, forcing them to store their vehicles across town. Ultimately, three commissioners said they could not support the plan as presented and voted instead to continue the item to a future date, giving the storage company time to present a revised plan. So far, no date is scheduled for the next public hearing on this issue. 1143

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A beloved South Bay preschool director is being remembered as someone who always made others feel special.Aaron Partch was a co-director at Concordia Preschool in Chula Vista. He passed away September 15th.A virtual memorial for him was held Saturday.Like many other schools, Concordia closed in March during the pandemic. A couple months after the school closure, Partch was diagnosed with grade four glioblastoma. He had undergone brain surgery and was receiving treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation. In mid-September, Partch passed away suddenly from a heart attack.“God took our warrior up to heaven where he no doubt is singing and dancing with the angels,” his family wrote online.His co-workers said his energy will be missed.“He knows everybody by name. His greetings were always extremely cheerful, but sincere. When he asked you how your day was, he wanted to know,” said preschool teacher Meagan Lee, who worked with Partch for the last two years. “I think it’s really hard for all of us to walk down the halls and know he’s not going to be there with us.”Partch had been with Concordia Preschool for more than ten years. Nearby schools also remembered him.“If you knew him, you knew what a loss this is not just for Concordia, but for our community as well. Aaron was one of those people who lit up a room. He filled every moment with happiness and joy, and he was such a great leader to his students,” the Enrique Camarena PTA wrote on Facebook.Partch was 51 years old.
