Dreher Township, PA (WNEP) -- Parents are expressing concern after a church announced it will hold a ceremony next week, and worshipers are encouraged to bring assault rifles with them, and the ceremony will be just down the road from an elementary school.The ceremony in Wayne County was planned before the mass shooting at a high school in Florida last week.Church leaders still plan to go ahead with the blessing of guns, which has some parents of elementary school students on edge.Sanctuary Church and Rod of Iron Ministries are one in the same, run by the Moon family from South Korea who started the controversial Unification Church.Church leaders said that state police wanted to know what the ceremony next week involving AR-15-style assault rifles is all about.At 10 a.m. next Wednesday, church leaders expect up to 600 people for a blessing ceremony, and many of those people are expected to be armed with AR-15s, the assault rifle used in recent mass shootings across the country."This will be a big thing for us. It's a new stage for us because it incorporates the rod of iron, as it is in Revelations. Revelations talks about the returning Christ ruling with the rod of iron."Tim Elder sat down with WNEP to explain the beliefs of the church, led by the Reverend Sean Moon.Moon is the son of the late Sun Myung Moon, who founded the controversial Unification Church that drew national attention in the 1970s and '80s. The Rod of Iron Ministries is an offshoot of that religious organization focusing on what it believes is the right of families to defend themselves with assault rifles."This rod of iron is the AR-15, in today's terms."The Moon family also owns Kahr Arms, a gunmaker that moved to Pike County a couple years ago. WNEP was at the opening ceremony at that time in Blooming Grove Township.Church leaders say the AR-15s will not be loaded for the ceremony next week and safety zip ties will be used. However, state police are involved. Elder says troopers have reached out for more information.Just down the road from the church is Wallenpaupack South Elementary School with 280 students, plus teachers and staff. In light of recent gun violence at schools, the planned ceremony with assault rifles is concerning for parents."It's something I would consider keeping my child home. It's scary," said Liz Zoccola."I wish they wouldn't have it at all. I don't think there's a good time to have it, especially this close," Kendra Hanor said.The ceremony was planned before last week's deadly rampage at a high school in Florida.Wallenpaupack Area school officials are deciding what, if anything, the school will do next Wednesday in response to the ceremony down the road.  2719

During the coronavirus pandemic, airlines scaled back on serving in-flight food and drink service to avoid the virus's spread by contact.Well, United Airlines seems to be wading back into the water with news of it slowly bring back food and alcohol.According to USA Today, the airliner will begin test running the sale of food, beer, and wine to economy passengers on select flights from its hub in Denver, Colorado, starting Nov. 17.The test run would also include travelers on flights from Denver to eight destinations: Boston; Chicago; Honolulu; Houston; Los Angeles; Newark, New Jersey; San Francisco; and Washington, D.C., USA Today reported.On their "safety updates to inflight dining" page, United stated that passengers in economy traveling domestically on flights over 2 hours and 20 minutes would receive a complimentary snack bag that'll include two snacks, a small bottle of water, and a sanitizer wipe.If traveling in first-class from Boston, Chicago O'Hare, Cleveland, Denver, Houston Intercontinental, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, and Honolulu to San Francisco and Los Angeles, you can select either a cold sandwich or a snack box.Snacks for flights under 2 hours and 20 minutes would not receive snacks in economy, the airliner said, but you can bring your snacks on board.If traveling domestically in first class, and the flight is between 1 hour and 2 hours and 20 minutes, passengers would receive a complimentary snack bag that'll include two snacks, a small bottle of water, and a sanitizer wipe.For drinks, United said passengers would receive complimentary soft drinks, coffee, and tea. Alcoholic beverages are only available complimentary in premium cabins. Dr. Anthony Fauci has a stark warning for Americans, reiterating that if our response to the coronavirus does not change, there could be more hospitalizations and deaths.“If things do not change, if they continue on the course we’re on, there’s gonna be a whole lot of pain in this country with regard to additional cases and hospitalizations, and deaths,” Fauci said in an interview Wednesday evening on “The News with Shepard Smith.”Dr. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has repeatedly told lawmakers and other news outlets the country’s coronavirus case numbers are going in the “wrong direction.”Cases are rising in almost every state and territory, and coronavirus-positive patients are overwhelming hospitals in some parts of the country.The Midwest is especially hard hit right now, with Wisconsin reporting a 7-day positivity rate of 28 percent. Due to a recent rise in reported health issues, the US Food and Drug Administration warned on Tuesday against using or purchasing Rhino male enhancement products.Since 2007, the FDA said, it has identified more than 25 Rhino products, some with names such as Platinum Rhino 25000 and Krazzy Rhino 25000, that have hidden drug ingredients.The FDA said the products are often sold in single-serving packages at locations such as gas stations and convenience stores, or through online retailers such as eBay and Amazon. Recently, the products have also been found in international mail shipments, the agency said.In an email, eBay spokesman Ryan Moore said, "Product safety is important to eBay and we work hard to ensure our marketplace is free of harmful products. These types of items are prohibited under our policies, and therefore not allowed to be listed on the eBay market place." EBay regularly sweeps the site to remove such items, he said.Amazon has not responded to a request for comment."Over the past few years, the FDA has been combatting the retail sale of male enhancement drug products that are frequently misrepresented as dietary supplements and that contain hidden and potentially harmful active drug ingredients," said Donald D. Ashley, director of the Office of Compliance at the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.According to the FDA, the "products contain undeclared ingredients that are the same as or structurally similar to active ingredients found in FDA-approved prescription drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction."For example, some Rhino products contain the same active ingredient as Viagra and Cialis, sildenafil and/or tadalafil, respectively. These undeclared ingredients can lead to "significant safety issues and the risk of serious adverse events," the FDA said."The FDA has received reports of people experiencing chest pain, severe headaches and prolonged erections after taking a Rhino product that led to surgical intervention and hospitalization due to extreme drops in blood pressure," according to the agency.People who experience negative health effects or have issues with the quality or safety of a dietary supplement can report it to the FDA's MedWatch Safety Information program. Products identified by the FDA as having hidden active drug ingredients can be found in the tainted products database.Not all misrepresented products are included in the database, and consumers should still be wary, the FDA noted."Consumers should be cautious about using certain products, especially those promoted for sexual enhancement, weight loss, bodybuilding and/or pain relief.
