The protests intensified after the release of the 2013 documentary "Blackfish," which focused on the life of Tilikum, a killer whale responsible for killing trainer Dawn Brancheau when he dragged her into a pool in front of shocked visitors in 2010.The company in the past year, though, has seen a reversal of fortune. Attendance was up 8.6 percent during the 2018 fiscal year, as was revenue. Officers in New Jersey broke up a large house party in New Jersey with hundreds of people in attendance, authorities said.Police responded to a residence along Mill Pond Road in Jackson following a report of a suspicious incident around 8:30 p.m., according to Jackson Police Department.Officers arrived and spoke with several neighbors who said a house on the street was rented out to a group that was having a large party, causing a disturbance.Police contacted the homeowner, who said he had rented out the residence on Airbnb.The party expanded to about 700 people in attendance, with over 100 vehicles parked in the area, according to police.Officers began clearing the crowd from the residence and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office was contacted and authorized charges against the homeowner and party organizer for violating the state’s executive order in reference to the number of attendees allowed at a gathering.Officers from the Freehold Police Department, Howell Police Department, Lakewood Police Department, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, and New Jersey State Police also responded to assist and clear the large crowd from the residence and direct traffic as people left the area, according to authorities.During that time, police also received a call from a resident nearby reporting people who attended the party had broken into their residence and were damaging property.An investigation determined a family member of the caller was at the original party and had invited a large group back to their residence. The group was then dispersed, police said.It took until 1 a.m. for the officers to clear the residences of partygoers and all the vehicles from the neighborhood.The homeowner, later identified as 40-year-old Yaakov Weiss and the party organizers, 23-year-old Patience Guanue and 22-year-old Alicia Hinneh, were issued summonses.Gov. (KGTV) — Oceanside officials are closing beach parking lots this weekend in order to limit holiday gatherings as the county sees a rise in coronavirus cases.The city says beach parking lots west of the railroad tracks, with the exception of certain Harbor lots near the Harbor Village, will be closed from Friday at 8:00 a.m. through Monday, July 6, at 8:00 a.m.The city will also close all public parking lots in the downtown area west of the railroad tracks and all public parking lots in the Oceanside Small Craft Harbor, except lots 1, 4, 5, 8A, 8B and 9.RELATED: Crowds expected as San Diego beaches remain open this 4th of July"With Los Angeles County beaches closed, San Diego County State Beach parking lots closed, and several Orange County beaches following suit, it was deemed prudent to close Oceanside beach parking lots for the holiday weekend in order to minimize crowded conditions, limit gatherings, increase physical distancing, and slow the spread of the coronavirus," the city said in a statement.There will also be no fireworks displays in Oceanside or at Camp Pendleton on Saturday.The decision comes after San Diego County enacted several measures this week to slow the spread of the coronavirus, including a restaurant curfew and limits on bars. OCEANSIDE (CNS) - A fight between two men at a North County convenience store escalated Friday into a stabbing that left one of them hospitalized and the other under arrest, police said.The 9:30 a.m. fracas happened at the ampm [sic] minimart in the 1500 block of Melrose Drive, Oceanside police Lt. Kedrick Sadler said.Following the stabbing, the assailant allegedly fled on foot; medics took the victim to a trauma center, where he was admitted in stable condition with wounds to his upper body, according to Sadler.Officers searched the area with help from a sheriff's patrol helicopter, eventually finding the suspect at a business in the 700 block of North Avenue in Vista, several blocks south from the assault.The alleged assailant, whose name was not immediately available, was taken into custody without incident about 11:15 a.m., the lieutenant said.It was unclear what sparked the violence.WATCH the search for the suspect from SKY10 live: 958

OCEANSIDE (KGTV) - A big problem the homeless population faces is finding a safe place to bathe, that's why businesses are teaming up to help. Jordan Verdin has spent the last decade working with the homeless population in the North County. As a photographer, he’s always taking pictures and sharing their stories on social media. Part of Verdin’s love of taking pictures of the homeless is allowing them the opportunity of, “being seen and being heard but sometimes they might not want to be seen because of how they look so what we want to do I provide something that will eliminate that barrier”. He tells 10News, “One of the consistent needs shared with me is needing a place to shower”. After hearing that need repeated time and time again, he’s decided to work another project. Verdin mentioned the project to Oceanside business owner Jeanette Linnborn. Linnborn is the owner of coffee shop, Stay Golden. When Verdin brought the idea to Linnborn she jumped on board immediately. She tells 10News, “I was so excited about that I was like okay we can totally do this”. The shower trailer is made up of two sides, each equipped with a bathroom and shower. Verdin tells me 125 people will be able to shower daily. The shower trailer will stand as a liaison to help homeless back on their feet, “something as simple as a shower and a haircut just makes them feel human again” Verdin tells 10News. The cost of the shower trailer is ,000 and they have just reached the halfway point. There’s still a GoFundMe page set up to help them get the other half of funding. 1575
