DETROIT (AP) — Ford is recalling more than 375,000 Explorer SUVs in the U.S. and Canada to fix a suspension problem that has caused 13 crashes. The recall covers SUVs from the 2013 through 2017 model years built at Ford's Chicago Assembly Plant from Sept. 4, 2012, to Jan. 25, 2017. They were sold or registered in 22 states and six Canadian provinces where salt is used to clear roads during the winter. The automaker says the rear toe links can fracture, reducing steering control. A toe link puts weight on the tires so they stay on the ground. Ford says six people were hurt in the crashes. Dealers will inspect the suspension and replace parts if necessary. Customers will be notified starting the week of Nov. 30. 727

DETROIT (AP) — Ford is recalling more than 700,000 vehicles in North America because the backup cameras can show distorted images or suddenly go dark.The recall covers most 2020 versions of Ford’s F-Series trucks, as well as the 2020 Explorer, Mustang, Transit, Expedition, Escape, Ranger and Edge. Detroit police are investigating after a teen was shot in the back of the head while live on Instagram.According to police, it happened in a home in the 17600 block of San Juan on the city's west side.Police say just before midnight, two 18-year-old men were live on Instagram with guns and money. Per the suspect, he accidentally put his finger on the trigger and discharged the rifle, striking the other 18-year-old in the back of the head in the living room.Police and medics arrived on scene and pronounced the man dead.The other 18-year-old was taken into custody.  583

DEL MAR (CNS) - Star jockey Flavien Prat tested positive for COVID-19 Sunday following a trip to Kentucky for a riding assignment, and will quarantine at his home for at least 10 days, Del Mar Thoroughbred Club officials confirmed.Prat was tested at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla around noon and received a report of a positive test approximately 90 minutes later. He had been named to ride eight horses at Del Mar Sunday but was removed from all those mounts.Del Mar requires all riders traveling from other jurisdictions to be tested prior to being able to ride at the track.Del Mar will test all jockeys and jockeys' room personnel before its next day of racing, Friday.Jockey Victor Espinoza had tested positive for COVID-19 Friday. He is also isolating at home. He was scheduled to ride on Del Mar's opening day Friday but was removed from his mounts.Prat is the fourth thoroughbred jockey to have ridden at Los Alamitos Race Course on July 4 to have tested positive for the coronavirus, following Luis Saez, Martin Garcia and Espinoza.Eduard Kennis Rojas Fernandez, a quarter-horse jockey who rides at Los Alamitos, has also tested positive. He rode three horses July 3 and two July 5 at Los Alamitos' nighttime quarter-horse meeting, according to the Los Angeles Times.
