SAN JOSE, Calif. – A woman was caught on video intentionally coughing on a baby at a California yogurt shop after getting into an argument with the child’s mother.The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman, who they call an “assault suspect.”Police say the adult female suspect was standing in line inside a Yogurtland in front of the mother and her 1-year-old child, who was in a stroller.A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was upset the mother was not maintaining proper social distancing, so she removed her face mask, got close to the baby’s face, and coughed two to three times, according to police.Video then shows the suspect leaving the business. Chuck Schumer plans to propose legislation decriminalizing marijuana, Vice News reported Thursday."I'll be introducing legislation to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level from one end of the country to the other," the New York Democrat told Vice News. (KGTV) — Palomar Community College President Dr. Joi Lin Blake will resign this summer, after facing criticism over a recent budget report warning of the district's fiscal instability.This week the district's Governing Board approved the agreement for Blake to resign, which will take effect June 30. Blake was placed on leave following the Fiscal Crisis Management Assistance Team (FCMAT) report.Palomar Vice President Jack Kahn will serve at Acting Superintendent and President. SANTA ANA (CNS) - Orange County health officials reported a record number of coronavirus cases for the second consecutive day Sunday, announcing 434 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 and two additional deaths.The numbers bring the county's totals to 10,422 cases and 269 deaths, and follow Saturday's reporting of 413 newly confirmed cases and 10 deaths.The Orange County Health Care Agency said last week was the county's deadliest since the pandemic began, with 55 COVID-19 deaths reported between June 13-19.The number of people hospitalized with the coronavirus rose from 321 to 332, with the number of patients in intensive care dropping from 135 to 133.A total of 212,113 people have been tested for the virus, with 789 tests reported Sunday.There have been 4,953 documented recoveries, according to the OCHCA.The total number of Orange County cases break down to 50% men and 50% women, but men account for 57% of the deaths.Santa Ana leads all county cities with 2,189 cases, followed by Anaheim with 2,007. Their high numbers are attributed to large populations and the presence of multiple nursing homes in both cities. Santa Ana and Anaheim are Orange County's two largest cities in population.Dr. Clayton Chau, the Health Care Agency director and interim chief health officer, said the "hot spots" of Santa Ana and Anaheim "keep me up at night" with concern.
