President Donald Trump was only a half-hour into his nine-hour flight to the G20 summit here in the Argentine capital when he decided to pull the plug on the most hotly anticipated moment of his trip: a lengthy face-to-face with Russian President Vladimir Putin. But while Trump's abrupt decision quashed concerns that the President would repeat his cozy performance alongside Putin during their last meeting in Helsinki, Finland, new allegations by the President's former longtime attorney Michael Cohen revived questions about Trump's financial ties to Russia as he arrived for the international summit.Trump's planned meetings with a half-dozen other world leaders -- combined with the possibility of diplomatic snafus -- offer little promise of clearing the smoke of suspicion that is once again following him abroad.Eight minutes before he was set to meet with the summit's host on Friday morning, Trump began tweeting about the Cohen saga, saying his business dealings while a candidate were "very legal & very cool."Trump arrived in Buenos Aires for the summit late Thursday night, marking the first time he has set foot in Latin America in his nearly two years in office and kicking off what promises to be a whirlwind 48-hour visit. Friday will amount to the President's busiest day of diplomacy, but his most important meeting of the summit -- his dinner with Chinese President Xi Jinping -- doesn't come until a day later.Trump's aides hoped a signing ceremony for the recently struck United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement would act as a centerpiece of the trip, and they scheduled an event for Friday morning. Persistent disputes with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau -- including over US steel and aluminum tariffs -- led to questions about who precisely from the Canadian side would be doing the signing. But on Thursday evening, an official with the Canadian Prime Minister said Trudeau would be at Friday's ceremony.Trump has hailed the agreement as evidence of his negotiating prowess and said the pact would benefit American workers. He's been unnerved in recent days by a shaky stock market and factory closures by General Motors, according to people familiar with the matter, and is hoping to be able to tout the new trade agreement in Argentina.  2295

RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) - Piles of chicken carcasses, swarms of flies, and a horrendous stench are what neighbors around a Ramona egg ranch say they're struggling with daily. However, the County of San Diego told Team 10 that the ranch has fixed the problems. Yet neighbors say that's not true and if anything, it's gotten worse. The family that owns the ranch claims it's always working to ensure it's in full-compliance with the County's requirements. "We're actually getting whole limbs, chicken legs, skulls, and wings with the feathers still on them," says neighbor Sue Elliot. She describes for 10News all the waste that birds and other predators have swooped up from the huge Demler Brothers Egg Ranch and dropped around nearby homes. "You can smell it for a couple of miles down that way and down that way," adds neighbor Tony Lee. He explains that the stench comes from mounds of chicken manure on the ranch. Elliot adds, "They cover the tops of all of [the mounds] with shredded chickens and it's just red. It's just a sea of red." Neighbors sent 10News pictures that they say were taken last October, before the County did an inspection in November, after getting a complaint about dead chickens and manure. The photos show what neighbors say is raw, red meat, dumped on pile after pile, accessible to a bird or insect. "You've got to think, what disease is it carrying," Elliot asks. "It just depends on what kind of bacteria is cooking in that pile ya know? We don't know," says Lee. The ranch declined an on-camera interview but sent us this statement: “We are a small, family-owned, multi-generational farm that has always worked closely with San Diego County to ensure we are in full-compliance with all county regulations and requirements. We began our farm in 1974 when the area was very rural with more farms than homes. As is the case throughout California, as rural areas become more urbanized, new residents move to the area and demand changes to the way farmers and farms operate regardless of the impact those changes have on the farm or the rural lifestyle which drew the homeowners here in the first place. We are proud of our farm, and we will strive to be good neighbors as we continue our right to farm.” The County tells 10News that it issued a written notice after finding piles of composting ground chicken carcasses were not covered up enough to prevent flies and birds from getting in and flies were breeding. The ranch was also issued a violation notice and a warning letter related to its use of pesticides. The County now says the issues appear to have been resolved and the ranch told the County its taking new steps to minimize odors. Neighbors don't buy it. "I feel like I'm just about getting the run around," says Lee.In 2013, neighbors were concerned after a video surfaced that showed a worker at the ranch chasing hens, swinging at them with a stick. When hens stop producing as many eggs, they are routinely euthanized. In the case of Demler Brothers Egg Ranch, the hens were gassed with carbon dioxide, which is an accepted method. However, not all of the hens died. So, the worker's apparent solution was to use a stick. The ranch said it was outraged to discover its hens were mistreated by an employee of a third-party company. The ranch says that individual was terminated by the vendor.568Neighbors say that now the ranch has been disposing of waste irresponsibly, harming the environment. "The flies get in it and they multiply and then they spread across the countryside," adds Lee.Elliot concludes, "[The people at the ranch] don't care. They just don't seem to care." 3634

Record high ocean temperatures are bringing large crowds to San Diego beaches. The warm water also has the potential to attract more stingrays and jellyfish to the area. The Scripps Institute of Oceanography reports that surface ocean temperatures reached a record 79.5 degrees Sunday, which is more than ten degrees above normal. That, combined with unseasonably hot and humid weather, brought 333,680 people to City of San Diego beaches over the weekend, city lifeguards estimate. Clarissa Anderson, executive director of the Southern California Coastal Ocean Observing System at Scripps Institute of Oceanography, said it's unclear what has led to the higher temperatures. "The last several years we really have seen these anomalous temperatures every summer," she said, adding that the hot and humid water could be playing a role. The warm waters could also attract more stingrays to plant themselves along the shallow sand and jelly fish in the water just off shore. People who don't shuffle their feet risk a sting from the ray, while jelly fish sting on contact."More people are going to the beach, warmer temperatures, nice water and so you've just got more people and more animals, higher probability of encounter," Anderson said. Anderson said it was unclear how long these high temperatures would last. She noted the county had record low ocean temperatures - based on date of year - just a few weeks ago. 1422

Republicans angry with the Justice Department over not providing documents to Congress are urging President Donald Trump to intervene in the latest dispute between House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes, a California Republican, and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.Nunes threatened on Fox News over the weekend to hold Sessions in contempt after the Justice Department said it would not comply with his subpoena sent last month about records tied to the Russia investigation and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.The move could give Trump a new reason to take aim at his attorney general, a frequent punching bag of the President's for recusing himself from overseeing the Russia investigation. If Sessions doesn't comply, Democrats fear it would give Trump new reason to fire his attorney general and appoint a replacement who would be in charge of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. 913

President-elect Joe Biden pleaded with Americans to adopt public health best practices during the Thanksgiving holiday in the hopes of preventing the spread of COVID-19.Biden called for unity among Americans in attempting to snuff out the spread of the virus."We're at war with the virus. Not with one another. Not with each other," he said.Biden pleaded with Americans to avoid large gatherings over Thanksgiving and added that the nation owed it to essential health care workers, who are currently battling a concerning spike in cases."The federal government can't (fight the virus) alone," Biden said.Biden said he would be celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday in Delaware on Thursday along with his wife, Jill, his daughter and his son-in-law. He added that it would be among the smallest Thanksgiving gatherings the family has had in 40 years.Biden's announcement comes as the U.S. finds itself in a perilous position ahead of the holiday — COVID-19 cases are spiking to levels previously unseen since the pandemic arrived in the country, and health experts fear that large family gatherings across the country could continue to facilitate the spread of the virus. The CDC has recommended that Americans not travel to celebrate Thanksgiving, and Dr. Anthony Fauci has recommended that celebrations be limited to members of a single household. But Americans seem poised to ignore those recommendations. At least one survey says that 1 in 3 parents believe that the benefits of gathering at Thanksgiving outweigh the risk of the coronavirus.Biden's address comes a day after he formally announced who he will nominate for six key administration positions. It also comes a day after President Donald Trump participated in the annual turkey pardon at the White House. 1774
