(SAN DIEGO) KGTV -- New records released show police responded to the home of the man that injured two police officers dozens of times in the past. On June 23rd, police responded to a disturbance call at the Rolando Court condo. When they smelled smoke, they called firefighters to the scene. Officers knocked on the front door for more than 20 minutes but received no response, officials said. Firefighters forced entry into the home. That’s when firefighters and officers were met with gunfire. Two officers were shot. The man inside the condo, Joe Darwish, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.Following the June 23rd shooting, Team 10 requested details regarding the number of times police responded to Darwish's address, but they were not released until after the investigation was over. The officers were cleared of any wrongdoing.Documents show that since 2013, there were 31 calls for service to Darwish's address before the night of the shooting. More than half were 5150 calls, where officers checked on the individual’s mental wellbeing. Nine calls were for disturbances, some with violence. In February 2016, there was one call listed as “CCCC,” which police say describes a chronic caller to the department. The records also revealed police were at the home eight days before the shooting for another disturbance call with potential violence. Darwish did have a criminal history and was not supposed to own any weapons. 1443

[Editor's Note: Officials with San Diego State University said the apartment complex featured in this story is privately owned and not managed by SDSU and is located off-campus. Our report is updated with that information. All students living on-campus who have moved out, will be receiving reimbursement for both housing and meal plans, campus officials said.]SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- SDSU students have largely moved out of off-campus housing as classes at the university have moved online to help stop the spread of Coronavirus. Some students are having trouble getting out of their leases. Sheli Riley has received emails from Capstone Management Company offering options to students like her daughter Kristin. "Everyone's gone. Everyone's home," says Kristin, as she and her mom made plans Saturday to pack up the apartment she shares with four friends. Saturday was the deadline for students in on-campus housing to move out. The normally bustling campus was mostly quiet. Sheli lamented the challenges for college students whose semesters have come to an abrupt halt. "You're in this great time of your life, loving every aspect of living there. All of a sudden you came home for the weekend and now it's over, she says." Sheli shared emails with 10News outlining the options they were given by the management company, which owns and operates the M@College apartments. According to the email, students can move out by April 1st and receive a small credit toward their leases. If the student finds someone to sublet, they receive an additional credit. Students are still responsible through the end of July, or the end of their lease term. Alternatively, if students choose to stay on campus, they receive a discount on rent, but the company may sublet the additional rooms of these shared apartments, which presents parents like Sheli with safety concerns. She would like to see the university intervene. SDSU sent 10News a statement saying in part, "these apartments are privately owned an operated," despite being on SDSU's campus. Capstone management also sent a statement, saying in part that they are working with the university to offer options to students. Sheli says one major frustration has been that the company has only offered a mailing address for any and all questions, rather than a phone number or email address to reach someone who might be able to help."It's hard when you hear they're doing relief from rent, nationwide... yet you get this through the university through the Montage." 2515

(KGTV) - The Los Angeles Chargers made a list of the most in-demand team for National Football League tickets, a StubHub report showed Thursday. The team ranked at number 9 for 2019 season ticket sales. This is the first year the Chargers have made the top 10, according to StubHub. Other rankings: 1. Dallas Cowboys 2. Green Bay Packers 3. Chicago Bears 4. New England Patriots 5. Philadelphia Eagles 6. Cleveland Browns 7. Minnesota Vikings 8. Pittsburgh Steelers 9. Los Angeles Chargers 10. San Francisco 49ersChargers ticket sales are up 220 percent, even with the smallest venue in the league, StubHub analysts said. The team’s Oct. 13 game against the Steelers was the eighth most in-demand game for fall. “Historic franchises are continuing to draw fans in 2019,” Akshay Khanna, GM of NFL at StubHub. “The Cowboys, Packers, Bears and Patriots dominate StubHub’s Top 10 in-demand teams and each are up at least 20% in ticket sales from 2018. It really shows that loyal fan bases, histories of winning seasons and continued buzz throughout the offseason can continue to fuel high demand.” Quarterbacks Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers held honors as the most popular players, based on eBay merchandise sales from July 2018 through July 2019. “Tom Brady continues to resonate most with eBay shoppers following his 2019 Superbowl win, according to fan gear sales on our marketplace,” said Sam Bright, Vice President of Merchandising at eBay. “We are, however, seeing increases in excitement for other players compared to our top 10 rankings of 2018. Odell Beckham, Jr., who ranked number 10 last year, is now the number five trending player following his move to the Cleveland Browns, and newcomers to the list include Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, Rams running back Todd Gurley and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson – all fantasy football favorites.” Not only is the NFL popular in the U.S., ticket sales from international buyers rose 19 percent during the 2018 season. Canada, Mexico, Australia, the United Kingdom and Germany were the top buyers. 2076
