A 17-month-old girl who was wounded in the west Texas shooting rampage is expected to make a full recovery.The toddler, identified as Anderson Davis, was one of the 22 people injured in Saturday’s shooting. Davis’ family praised doctors and first responders for saving her life. Texas governor Greg Abbott, citing family members, said the girl would need to have surgery Monday in order to remove shrapnel from her body.The Davis family also said they're looking forward to reuniting Anderson with her twin brother at home soon.Seven people were killed in the shootings. A judge ordered President Donald Trump to pay million to a collection of nonprofit organizations as part of a settlement with the New York state attorney general's office to resolve a civil lawsuit that alleged "persistent" violations of charities law that included unlawful coordination with the 2016 Trump presidential campaign, according to a court filing Thursday.Filed in June 2018, the lawsuit alleged that the President and his three eldest children -- Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric -- violated federal and state campaign finance laws and abused the Donald J. Trump Foundation's tax-exempt status. A Kingman animal hospital helped deliver 19 Great Dane puppies from one mother on Saturday morning. Kingman Animal Hospital says all of the puppies were delivered successfully, and are alive and healthy. The mother dog was also doing well after the C-section. Eleven staff members at the animal hospital helped perform the surgery and checked the puppies afterward for any issues. “Thank you all for the kind words and congrats to the momma dog and our hard working staff that came in for this emergency,” their Facebook post read. 544
A 73-year-old hiker was rescued Saturday after spending seven days in the wilderness, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Edmo Luna said.Eugene Jo went missing June 22 after becoming separated from a hiking group near Mount Waterman in the San Gabriel Mountains of the Angeles National Forest, according to a Twitter post from the Montrose Search and Rescue Team.Jo was discovered Saturday morning around 11 a.m. Pacific time, according to the search and rescue team. Luna said the man was found "down a ravine in the Devil's Canyon area, quite a few miles away from the trail of the original hike."He had not eaten in at least five days and was drinking water out of Devils Canyon Creek, the search team's post said.The hiker suffered no traumatic injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital for further evaluation, according to Luna.
