EAST FREEHOLD, N.J. — A 3.1 magnitude earthquake was detected Wednesday morning in the Central New Jersey town of Freehold, according to the United States Geological Survey. The USGS detected the quake around 2 a.m. while the National Weather Service referred to the quake as a "small tremor" despite that it was felt in much of Central Jersey. The depth of the quake was reported as about 3.1 miles. There are no reports yet of any damage or injuries due to the earthquake.Hundreds of reports were coming in from as far as Philadelphia and Long Island, New York on the USGS' "Did You Feel It?" map.Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden said that about 125 non-emergency and 911 calls came in from residents who reported feeling and hearing the quake.Twitter user @BWf34, in Freehold, said it "felt like an explosion, then shaking. No obvious damage to house. Woke up the entire family."Twitter user @arorasa, in East Windsor, said the "whole house shook. It's been an hour now, but still feeling rattled."Geophysicist Robert Sanders from the USGS said that a 3.1 quake is unlikely to have caused anything more than damaged shelves or falling picture frames. He said there had been just two other quakes over 3.0 magnitude in the area since 1970.The last recorded earthquake in New Jersey before Wednesday was a 1.7 magnitude quake on Aug. 17 in Milford, New Jersey, according to the Northeast States Emergency Consortium. The strongest quake with an epicenter in New Jersey was a magnitude 4.8 earthquake back on Aug. 23, 1938, near Trenton. This story was originally published by Stephen M. Now to go along with his seven NASCAR titles, he's also accumulated 83 career wins.TIMELINE: El Cajon native and famed NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson through the years"My god, I can't believe it history boys no one ever,” Johnson said. He's helped high schools including Granite Hills with grants totaling over a half million dollars."To be able to give back and put a smile on people's faces and to give to people in need, you know, like our foundation does. And to even come back here and donate back to the school, on a different level, it's a totally different experience and a great experience to give back,” Johnson said in 2007. "Jimmie...gave us the ability to actually redo this whole concessions area for our site, for our students, and for our community as well,” Santos said. Complete Coverage: Life in El CajonBut there is more; his foundation has also made a difference in partnering with Habitat for Humanity to build new homes in the El Cajon area."It doesn't surprise me at all and for me as an alum, it makes me really proud to know that someone of that stature would give back not just to his high school, but to the community of El Cajon as well,” Santos added. 2003

Driving through Brazil to Rio de Janeiro, you might spot an eerie sight on the side of the road: a derelict gang of Santas, lying abandoned surrounded by palm trees and greenery.Look closely and you'll see these Father Christmas clones aren't alone. There's a sad looking sleigh and dilapidated reindeer nearby. Soon you'll spot the faded candy canes, battered slides and an eerie house.Welcome to Park Albanoel, in Itaguaí, Brazil — an abandoned Christmas theme park. The park was the brainchild of politician Antonio Albano Reis, colloquially known as the "Santa Claus of Quintino" because he dressed as Santa each Christmas. It was going to be a series of fun, themed-lands over an expansive area — more than 30 million square meters — but only the Santa area was completed.Following Reis' sudden death in a road accident in 2004, Park Albanoel closed and fell into disrepair. 884
