SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A brief pursuit involving a stolen BMW ended Wednesday morning near a nursing home parking lot.The incident began shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday when a new model BMW was reported stolen in Santee.Two hours later, San Diego police spotted the BMW traveling westbound on state Route 94 near the Euclid Avenue exit.When officers attempted to stop the car, the driver refused to pull over and sped away. With police in pursuit, the BMW made its way onto northbound Interstate 805, then transitioned to Interstate 15.The driver exited on Adams Avenue, crashed into a wall, and then got back on northbound I-15.After exiting Camino Del Rio South, police said the driver parked the stolen BMW in a nursing home parking lot in Mission Valley and ran away. Police found him a few blocks away and arrested him.The driver's name and the charges he faces were not immediately confirmed. 901

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Clairemont neighborhood woke up Thursday to a police raid, one week after surveillance video captured a gun battle in the exact same area. A damaged front door was left behind after a police action early in the morning. Just before 7 a.m., a surveillance camera captured officers arriving on Batista Street. They line up in front of a two-story home, before executing a search warrant there."So unusual. Don't remember anything like this in recent memory," said Gail Martin, who has lived in the neighborhood for more than 30 years. For neighbors, the bizarre events began last Friday. Doorbell video shows a speeding black truck turning onto a street past a sedan, which then begins to move. In the next video, the truck is stopped on the street. Not far away, someone emerges from the passenger side of the car and starts firing a handgun. After about six shots are exchanged. The car then backs up and peels out. Another surveillance camera shows the truck racing out of the area.Evidence markers revealed a scene resembling the Wild West. Did other clues lead to the nearby home? Neighbors tell 10news a lot of young people are seen coming in and out at all hours."A lot of partying, a lot of drinking. Yelling and fighting ... not very common for this neighborhood," said Eric Jacobs. On this morning, the activity was narcotics officers swarming the home. The search of the house lasted more than an hour-and-a-half. When it wrapped up, a young man was handcuffed and taken into custody. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - 36 students reportedly felt sick at a Bay Terraces elementary school due to possible construction-related fumes, according to the San Diego Fire Department.San Diego Fire-Rescue crews responded to Zamorano Fine Arts Academy around 10:30 a.m. following the reports of students feeling ill. Crews said the kids complained of not feeling well and were being held in the school's cafeteria.An ambulance brought one child to a nearby hospital, SDFD said. Around 11:45 a.m. SDFD began releasing students who were being held in the cafeteria. A nearby construction site was in the process of pouring resin when the smell caused some children to start feeling sick, according to San Diego Unified School District. The resin is non-toxic, but fire crews were called to check out the students. 835

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - 23 people were injured Saturday night when a structure collapsed at an indoor parkour center in Barrio Logan.21 of them were children. Two were adults, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.The collapse happened about 8 p.m. at Vault PK, a parkour center on Main St. and Sigsbee. Children who were above and below the structure were hurt.The injuries ranged from minor to moderate.Cory Brizendine, a parent, estimates there were about 50 kids there. They were called up to the platform for pizza."Once the majority of kids got up there the whole platform collapsed," he said.Shannon O'Brien was among the adults on the platform. "It was scary," she said.  She said it was a place parents sit to watch their kids, and she thought it seemed stable.  831

She told Christopher Dougherty he doesn’t have the right to prefer his kid’s expenses over his creditors.Today the judge ruled Dougherty will be in Chapter seven bankruptcy, meaning that he and his wife are no longer in charge of their own assets.A trustee will investigate and liquidate those assets.Dougherty is being accused of running a Ponzi scheme targeting mostly elderly victims who planning for retirement and taking more than million, according to bankruptcy court records.In bankruptcy court documents, the United States Trustee wrote Dougherty’s “deception is the basis of a Ponzi scheme.”“[Their] practice of using new investment money to pay existing investors dividends and the principal gave the false impression that the payments received by investors came from earnings and profits or from a return of their principal,” the documents said.The San Diego County Sheriff's Department tells 10News there is a criminal investigation into Christopher Dougherty with at least 30 potential victims.The Securities and Exchange Commission also has an open investigation into Dougherty. 1237
