"China is and will face various challenges and risks during economic expansion. We will never take them lightly," Li told a conference on the current economic situation on Thursday, according to a cabinet statement released Friday.

Li made the remarks at the opening of an economic and trade seminar marking the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Chile diplomatic relations and the seventh meeting of the China-Chile Business Council.

"China is the leading agricultural producer among the developing countries; FAO is the world's top agricultural organization. We are ready to enhance our cooperation with FAO, which will not only benefit agricultural development and progress toward hunger reduction targets, but also the poor and hungry people of the world," said Wang Yang, Vice Premier of China, who witnessed the ceremony.

Besides cooperation with Europe, China, as a responsible major country, has also pledged to help other developing countries cope with climate change through cooperating with the UN and multilateral financial institutions, establishing a South-South Cooperation Fund and enhancing professional training and exchanges.
