A night of teenage fun turned into tragedy on a rural road in Indiana.Four teens, who were attending a slumber party, were killed and four others were injured when an SUV plowed into them while they were pushing a woman's stalled car.It happened Saturday night when a Chevy Suburban driven by Cara Selby broke down just a block away from her home in Cortland, Indiana, officials said.Selby was throwing a slumber party for her daughter. When the teens at the sleepover came out to help push Selby's car back home, another vehicle hit them from behind, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department said.Killed were: Nevaeh Law, 14; Jenna A. A Phoenix boy is in the hospital after his mother's boyfriend allegedly broke his bones and pulled out his hair. Phoenix police report that on Wednesday, they arrested 25-year-old Steven Darrell Nelson at his home near 7th Street and Union Hills Drive. Three weeks earlier, a 4-year-old boy who also lives at Nelson's home was taken to the hospital with multiple life-threatening injuries. Pediatricians at Phoenix Children’s Hospital report that the child had a broken arm, broken leg, lacerated liver, bowel perforation, "multiple areas of hair loss from hair being pulled out by the roots," and bruising throughout his body.The boy has been hospitalized for the past three weeks, and allegedly told police, "Steven hurt me." Upon his arrest, Nelson reportedly told police that they were playing when the injuries occurred, and, "he hoped that one day they could be friends."  926

A gust blew the tent into the air and it fell over.“If anyone has seen 'The Wizard of Oz' and Dorothy and Toto and everything else, or 'Twister,' yes, unfortunately, we did have an incident,” Bill Klein, town moderator in Bedford, told the New Hampshire Union Leader.The 72-year-old poll worker had a cut on his face and was taken to the hospital to be checked out, according to the Washington Post. A new internal document shows the Transportation Security Administration's proposal to eliminate screening at more than 150 small to medium sized airports is just one of several cost-saving measures the agency is discussing.The document, which an agency source says TSA Administrator David Pekoske was briefed on last month, shows how the TSA could save more than 0 million in 2020.Among the proposed cuts listed in the document are a reduction in full-time air marshals, a reduction in the workforce at TSA headquarters, fewer reimbursements to airports for janitorial services at TSA checkpoints, cuts for benefits for new part-time employees and a 50% cut in reimbursements to state and local law enforcement agencies for use of their K-9 units.The TSA did not respond to multiple requests for comment.Spending cuts would have to be approved by Congress, which sets the TSA's budget. 902
