OCEANSIDE (KGTV) - It’s been nine months of physical therapy since a great white shark attacked Keane Webre-Hayes. “My love of the ocean is much more than my fear of sharks.” Webre-Hayes tells 10News. He’s been determined to get back into the ocean. While it’s been a long process, he finally made it out spearfishing. Josh Fleming owns Meric Spearfishing in Oceanside, he has been helping get Webre-Hayes ready to dive back into the ocean. “He gave me a gift certificate saying whatever it costs and he got me all geared up.” Fleming gave Webre-Hayes a new diving suit, speargun and other gear to help him prepare for his spearfishing adventures. Webre-Hayes was attacked by the great white shark during his first time lobster diving. He underwent hours of surgery, got one thousand stitches and has continued months of physical therapy. He’s been through intensive therapy at Equinox and Nakoa in Carlsbad. “I love the ocean it’s my second home basically.” Webre-Hayes tells 10News. The shark broke the top of his humorous, tore off his rotator cuff, broke the scapula in three different places and he’s missing parts of his deltoid and lateral muscles. Webre-Hayes tells 10News, “It was a gnarly bite and its crazy that I’m going to be throwing out the first pitch at the Padres game.” Before spearfishing came baseball. He was a left-handed pitcher until his left side was attacked back in September. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Police have identified the man accused of firing a gun at an Oklahoma City restaurant on Thursday evenign. Police say Alexander Tilghman, 28-years-old of Oklahoma City, opened fire Thursday at 6:30 p.m. local time at Louie's restaurant on Lake Hefner. In an update sent around 9:30 a.m. police say officers found Tilghman dead outside the restaurant. Police say he was shot by two citizens.Witnesses say the men were yelling at the suspect to put his gun down, but he had large headphones on and was pacing near the restaurant. Witnesses say the suspect raised his gun at the men, and that's when the armed citizen shot Tilghman.Police say three people were shot: A 39-year-old woman and two female juveniles. All three are reportedly in good condition.A fourth person was injured, according to police, after falling and breaking his arm after the shooter started firing his gun.Oklahoma City police are holding a press conference at 11:30 a.m. local time.  1024

(KGTV) — Just a few blocks from the Oceanside Pier and the surfers who speckle the waters around it you'll find one of the richest troves of surfing history in the world.The California Surf Museum was established in Oceanside in 1986, chronicling a sport many see as a way of life."Surfing goes back thousands of years," says museum president Jim Kempton, a surfing legend and editor of Surfing Magazine in the 1970s. Kempton's never-ending love for the sport is evident as he leads 10News on a tour of the colorful museum that blooms with the science, art, and history of surfing."You start with these ancient Alaias (uh-lee-yuhs)," said Kempton, gesturing to a tall, thick surfboard made of Kola wood from Hawaii. "It was just part of the Hawaiian lifestyle. They did it all the time and women did it as much as men."LIFE IN OCEANSIDE: Oceanside's brewery scene helps spur city's growthThe earliest board designs, dating back some 4,000 years, were sometimes more than 20 feet in length. "They were very very long at the time," said Kempton. "And that was just the expectation that people had. They didn't imagine that people could stand on anything smaller than that." But that would change — along with so many other things — during the era of groovy, when imagination and new materials like foam and fiberglass redefined the sport. "Surfing was really in the same sort of youth movement that everything in the 60s was," said Kempton. "From swallow tails and pin tails. You know, flat bottoms, beveled bottoms, V-bottoms, all these different things." "You know we can always tell when people get to this part of the museum if we're out in the front," said Kempton. "Because you hear the gasps." It's the actual board 13-year-old Bethany Hamilton was on when she was attacked by a 15-foot tiger shark off the coast of Kauai in 2003.Kempton says the board found its way to the museum through an old friendship. "Her dad and I were friends in college back, you know, 20 years before. And I ran into him and I was telling him about the museum and he said, 'Well, would you like Bethany's board?' I said 'which one?' And he said, 'You know. (KGTV) — One person is presumed dead after going underwater as rescue personnel tried to save them.Oceanside Fire Department was called to rescue a person in the water near Oceanside Pier just after 3 a.m. Saturday, according to the department. A person was located clinging to a pylon.A rescue swimmer dove into the water to help the person, simultaneously while the person let go of the pylon and went underwater, OFD says.Rescuers continued to search the surrounding waters for the victim but were unable to locate them. Crews suspended searching the area for the individual after several hours Saturday. 633

Previously, Reddit has allowed groups and individuals more leeway when censoring content on the site.Launched in 2015 along with Trump's presidential campaign, r/The_Donald grew to nearly 800,000 members before it was removed from Reddit. While the group did not have any affiliation with Trump or the Trump campaign, the then-Republican nominee participated in an "Ask Me Anything" discussion in the group during the 2016 presidential campaign.The group has become known for a breeding ground for conspiracy theories. According to reports, the group helped propel the "Pizzagate" theory that led to the arrest of an armed man at a D.C.-area pizza restaurant shortly after the 2016 election. It also routinely hosted Islamophobic discussions and promoted other content many considered to be racist.According to a disclaimer, Reddit says r/The_Donald was banned violating Rules 1 (harassment, threats of violence), 2 (spamming, vote manipulation) and 8 (don't break the site or do anything that interferes with the normal use of Reddit).Reddit had previously taken steps to curtail r/The_Donald. In June 2019, the network "quarantined" the site, meaning that the subreddit would not show up in search results and could not appear on the site's front page.
