SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person has been arrested Friday in connection with two threatening notes targeting La Jolla High School found off-campus.It's not clear whether the person was a student of the school.In a letter to parents Thursday, La Jolla High Principal Charles Podhorsky alerted the community of the notes that made mention to Oct. 31 and Dec. 10.RELATED: Point Loma Nazarene University classes canceled due to FBI investigation into possible threatPodhorsky alerted parents to the arrest Friday, and noted, "In an abundance of caution, we still plan to have additional officers on campus on these dates."It wasn't confirmed where the notes were found in the community, but students told 10News one of the notes were found at a nearby 7-Eleven location.Podhorsky also reminded parents to talk with their children regarding the notes and “If you see something, say something.”Any suspicious activity can be reported to either the Students Speak Out/Crime Stoppers hotline at 619-275-8240 or to San Diego Police at 619-531-2000. 1094

They said the development will have a spread of apartments for seniors and low low income, affordable town-homes, and individual homes. The highest bracket in the chart showed 1,570 or more. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Naval Base Point Loma was locked down Thursday over reports of a suspicious person.In a Facebook post, the base said "all personnel onboard the installation are directed to seek shelter in the nearest building and activate lock down procedure" and remain inside until told otherwise. The lockdown was lifted just before 2 p.m. and Harbor Drive was reopened to traffic. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg in East Village late Saturday night.Authorities say a 48-year-old man parked his car on 11th and E Street near City College Station around 10:50 p.m. Saturday.The man got out of the car and started walking when he saw two people arguing and heard gunshots.According to police, the man got into his car and began to drive away when he felt a pain in his right leg, looked down and saw that he was bleeding.Police said at this time, they don’t have any description of the suspects.The man drove himself to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 642

  

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Multiple former students of San Diego's Christian Youth Theater, known as CYT, are coming forward with stories of sexual assault, abuse and misconduct.On the phone Tuesday, the president of CYT confirmed that one of her own close family members claims that he was even abused when he was in CYT many years ago.On its Facebook page, the El Cajon-based theater group has acknowledged recent accusations of sex abuse from former students.Part of its statement reads, “We are deeply saddened to learn about statements that have recently been made on social media involving former CYT students, and we want you to know that we take these allegations very seriously…We have been working tirelessly on these issues with the authorities, outside consultants, staff, and the Board of Directors since they were brought to our attention…"San Diego attorney Jessica Pride said Tuesday that she's representing a former student who claims she was sexually abused starting in 2006. “The first time she was 13 and it continued until she was 15-years-old,” said Pride.The after-school theater arts training program was founded 40 years ago and is for students ranging from 4-years-old to 18-years-old. On its website, CYT writes that its grown to be the largest youth theater program in the nation with branches across the country, training thousands of students a year.Tuesday, CYT President Janie Russell Cox would not confirm the number of alleged victims or whether the accusations of abuse were between just students or students and teachers, but said claims have come from alumni- not current students.Cox confirmed that her close family member publicly posted on social media his own account of abuse from many years ago. She said she's heartbroken and wants to be transparent and will provide an on-camera interview in the upcoming days.Pride said dozens of other former students are now contacting the firm. “The phone has been ringing off the hook with survivors who are calling and want to tell their story and want to make sure that CYT changes,” she added.San Diego Police told ABC10 News Tuesday that its Sex Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation in which there is an association with CYT.An advocate for several of the alleged victims is asking for any other possible victims to come forward.
