She left her cart in line to retrieve the item. When she returned, another customer had gotten in line in front of her. After Mock and the other female customer argued, the other woman got in another line. According to the report, the customer told Mock, "I'll meet you outside." Mock responded, "I'll see you outside."Once outside, Mock is accused of pulling a gun out of her waistband on the shopper. Later, the victim drove away and called law enforcement while Mock allegedly followed the woman. That is when police caught up to Mock. Mock denied pulling a gun or intentionally following the woman, but law enforcement did find a firearm. Mock was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, according to the report given to the Tallahassee Democrat.  1233

The National Institute of Standards and Technology tested leading facial recognition systems -- though not from Amazon, which didn’t submit its algorithms -- and found that they often performed unevenly based on a person’s race, gender or age.Buolamwini on Wednesday called Amazon’s announcement a “welcomed though unexpected announcement.”“Microsoft also needs to take a stand,” she wrote in an emailed statement. “More importantly our lawmakers need to step up” to rein in harmful deployments of the technologies.Microsoft has been vocal about the need to regulate facial recognition to prevent human rights abuses but hasn’t said it wouldn’t sell it to law enforcement. (KGTV) -- A local animal sanctuary is mourning the loss of Shadow the leopard.Shadow first came to Lions Tigers & Bears in Alpine four years ago after being rescued from a defunct animal sanctuary in South Dakota.Unfortunately, Shadow was plagued with health issues, including skin disease and leaky heart valves.The leopard’s health continued to deteriorate this year, and Lions Tigers & Bears officials decided to put Shadow down this weekend.Shadow is the second big cat the Alpine sanctuary has lost in two weeks; on Oct. 26, a tiger killed another when they were accidentally brought into close contact with one another. 656
