Disney is honoring the milestone with “The Haunted Mansion: Celebrating 50 Years of Retirement Unliving.” The after-hours events will include special entertainment, character encounters, photo opportunities, themed food and drinks, unique merchandise, and what Disney describes as “a few supernatural surprises.” Event highlights include: *A 13th Hour Celebration kick-off along the Rivers of America. A 20-year-old man with Down syndrome was carrying a toy gun when he was shot dead by Swedish police in Stockholm on Thursday, according to CNN affiliate Expressen.Eric Torell was diagnosed with both autism and Down syndrome and could not verbally communicate, his mother told Expressen.Torell's family reported him missing after he ran away from home, something he had been known to do before. He had a plastic toy gun with him, which "looked a little like a submachine gun" and was given to him as a gift, said his mother, Katarina S?derberg.Early Thursday morning, the police received reports of a person with a gun in the Vasastan district. After arriving on the scene, they shouted at Torell to "lay down his weapon and lie on the ground," an eyewitness told Expressen.Police officers are then believed to have fired at Torell, according to Expressen. (KGTV) — More than 20,000 acres have been scorched in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties by the Apple Fire since Friday, prompting evacuation orders for thousands of residents.The fire had burned 26,450 acres and was 5% contained as of Monday at 7:48 a.m., according to Cal Fire.Officials say the blaze began as two separate fires on Friday in Cherry Valley, an unincorporated area near Beaumont in Riverside County, before exploding over the weekend and crossing into San Bernardino County.RELATED: Several San Diego County fire departments help fight growing Apple FireThe U.S. Forest Service says the majority of the area covering the northern and eastern edges of the fire is very steep and rugged, making it difficult for crews to access the area with vehicles. The agency added that a high pressure ridge on Sunday created hot and dry conditions, fueling the flames.Helicopters and fixed-wing air tankers were assisting ground crews and equipment in battling the fire.At least one home and two outbuildings have been destroyed by the fire and several more were threatened.
