BELGRADE, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said Tuesday that his country will create an investment fund of 3 billion U.S. dollars to facilitate financing in the cash-strapped Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries.

China, he said, sent in humanitarian aid swiftly after the outbreak, and has since offered multiple batches of emergency assistance and dispatched a largest number of medical experts and workers to the affected areas to help with prevention and control efforts.

Li asked related agencies to continue to carry out comprehensive prevention and treatment measures by putting a check on the source of the infection at the core, improve prevention and control ability, and cut off the spreading channels effectively.

"Epidemic knows no borders, and Ebola is a common challenge for all countries around the world," he said.

This is the first ever visit to Colombia by a top Chinese legislator since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1980.
