PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Port Richey, Florida Mayor Dale Massad and his longtime girlfriend Caj Joseph were arrested Aug. 23 on domestic violence charges. Massad was arrested after deputies say he grabbed Joseph and pushed her to the ground.He was charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic battery which required him to spend the night in jail before his first court hearing Friday. In July, police went to Massad's house four dozen times, but he had never been charged with a crime.At the time, he blamed police activity on his girlfriends.“You look in there, see if I made any calls,” he said, pointing to police reports.Joseph, who was arrested Thursday for felony battery of a person over the age of 65, had been charged half a dozen other times for battery, violating protection orders and other crimes allegedly committed at Massad's home.“I'm a felon and I went back there and I don't want to be there,” Joseph told the judge.She also said she was unable to post a 0 bond to get out of jail.“I don't know how to get out of here. I don't have anyone I know. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- Crews extinguished a brush fire that sparked in a riverbed near Poway Tuesday afternoon. The brush fire sparked around 1 p.m. near Poway Road and Sabre Springs Parkway. According to Cal Fire, the wind-driven fire burned about one acre in an area with heavy fuel. Two helicopters were ordered to the scene to fight the blaze. At this time, the cause is unknown. Homes were in the path of the blaze, but were never threatened. In all, firefighters from Poway, San Diego, Cal Fire and Santee fought the blaze. 539

(KGTV) — San Diego Sheriff's deputies Saturday were investigating a homicide at a North County apartment complex.Sheriff's deputies responded to the Sofi apartment complex on Midland Rd. at about 1:45 a.m., deputies said.Early Saturday morning, the San Diego Sheriff's Department received a call from Pomerado Hospital in Poway of a man who was brought in with a gunshot wound. Just after 3:00 a.m, Michael Walker died at the hospital.10News spoke to a neighbor, Christine Zobel. She was woken up at around 1:45 am after hearing commotion upstairs. "There was an altercation in the apartment on top of my children's room, and there was a gunshot that went through the wall and killed a man that was sleeping," Zobel said. Minutes after the shooting, Zobel saw Walker's wife drive him to the hospital. But he did not make it. "That could've gone through the floor and into my kids' room, or anybody around us could've been affected from this reckless event," Zobel said. Saturday afternoon, Sheriff's Homicide detectives arrested Manuula Save for murder. The investigation is ongoing. President Donald Trump has pulled most of his advertising from TV over the past week, ceding the airwaves to Democratic rival Joe Biden, who is currently outspending him by more than 10-to-1. That's according to data from the ad tracking firm CMAG/Kantar. It is unusual for a White House contender to mostly go dark on TV with the election just over two months away. The move comes after the Trump campaign recently acknowledged it was trying to conserve money. That's allowed Biden an opportunity to communicate an unfiltered message to voters without competing advertising.
