You can find courses for just about any topic on platforms like Coursera and Udemy.“Then, put that bullet point on your resume. Even if they don’t have a formal certification process, that’s still a big deal to say you invested that amount of time in yourself,” says Julie Kratz, founder of Next Pivot Point, a leadership training organization.This step can be even more impactful if you’ve had a gap in work experience during the pandemic.Give yourself creditMaybe you don’t meet 100 percent of the listed requirements for a position or you’re considering a new career path. Don’t let that stop you from applying.Be confident and try not to apologize for or otherwise call attention to anything you’re lacking, says Jeannie Kim, vice president of content at career site The Muse.“What you should do instead is really play up the things that you do have. Play up the skills you have that are in the job description. KENOSHA — In his first time speaking publicly since his arrest, Kyle Rittenhouse told the Washington Post that he "would have died that night" if he hadn't brought a gun to a Kenosha protest where law enforcement officials say he shot and killed two men.Unrest broke out in Kenosha following the Aug. 23 police shooting of Jacob Blake. Police said Rittenhouse, 17, is charged with the homicides of two men during the night of Aug. 25. But they are not breaking the law.Wisconsin is an open carry state, meaning anyone who gets a gun legally can carry it in most public places without a license or permit.But that's not the case for minors like 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, who is accused of shooting three protesters in Kenosha Tuesday night, killing two of them.Kenosha Police Chief Daniel Miskinis confirmed to reporters Wednesday that you have to be 18 to open carry in the state of Wisconsin.And according to a 2009 memo from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, police can stop someone openly carrying a gun to determine if a crime is being committed.The DOJ says officers can stop someone if they have "reasonable suspicion" of criminal activity, adding Wisconsin's open carry law, "...is not a shield against police investigation or subsequent prosecution."In this case, police could have asked Rittenhouse how old he was and stopped him before he allegedly pulled the trigger.There are some exceptions in Wisconsin state law allowing minors to carry guns, including if they are in the military and in the line of duty, as well as if they are under adult supervision and using it for target practice or instruction. Jupiter and Saturn, the two largest planets in the Solar System, were stationed in nearly the same spot in the night sky on Monday, creating a bright spectacle.The positions of the two planets align once every 20 years, according to NASA. While conjunctions happen several times during the course of a typical lifetime, a conjunction of this magnitude is quite rare. The last time the two planets were this close to each other in the night sky was 400 years ago, but no one was able to see it as that conjunction occurred during the day.The last time a conjunction of his magnitude happened at night was 800 years ago.So what causes the conjunction?“You can imagine the solar system to be a racetrack, with each of the planets as a runner in their own lane and the Earth toward the center of the stadium,” said Henry Throop, astronomer in the Planetary Science Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington. “From our vantage point, we’ll be able to be to see Jupiter on the inside lane, approaching Saturn all month and finally overtaking it on December 21.”The timing of the conjunction adds to the spectacle. Monday also marks the winter solstice.Being four days before Christmas, some are dubbing the event as “The Christmas Star,” although the conjunction is of planets and not stars. Scientists have long speculated whether the Star of Bethlehem was the 7 BC conjunction of the two planets.“Conjunctions like this could happen on any day of the year, depending on where the planets are in their orbits,” said Throop. “The date of the conjunction is determined by the positions of Jupiter, Saturn, and the Earth in their paths around the Sun, while the date of the solstice is determined by the tilt of Earth’s axis. The solstice is the longest night of the year, so this rare coincidence will give people a great chance to go outside and see the solar system.”While the two planets will have the appearance of being very close to each other, in reality, they will be hundreds of millions of miles apart.For the next few days, Saturn and Jupiter will remain very close to each other in the night sky.
