The LAPD says Wednesday that of the 56 investigations, 28 involve alleged uses of force. While most protests have been peaceful, there were violent clashes with police and businesses were vandalized. Floyd, a black man, died on May 25 after a white Minneapolis police officer pressed his knee on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes while he was handcuffed and lying on the ground. LOS ANGELES – The man who reportedly attacked an 86-year-old woman while she was out shopping in Koreatown has been arrested. Richard Rene Colomo, 41 (pictured below), was re-arrested Tuesday after being released earlier in February pending further investigation.Colomo is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on one felony count of elder or dependent adult abuse with infliction of injury. LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Rapper Nipsey Hussle has died after a shooting near a clothing store he was associated with in Los Angeles, according to a high-ranking law enforcement official with the Los Angeles Police Department.Two other people were injured in the shooting around 3:20 p.m., according to the department.The incident occurred near a clothing store around the area of Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard.All three victims were transported to a hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead, according to police. LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A San Diego man is facing a felony charge for allegedly trying to kidnap a 6-year-old girl from her blind father after encountering them on a Metro train as they were making their way home to the Westlake area of Los Angeles, police reported Wednesday.Elijah John Lopez, 24, is charged with one count of attempted kidnapping in connection with the alleged abduction Aug. 18 near Sixth and Coronado streets.He was arrested Sept. 2 in San Diego County and subsequently returned to Los Angeles.
