NEW YORK -- The white woman who called 911 on a Black man in Central Park back in May also made a second previously undisclosed phone call accusing the man of trying to assault her, the Manhattan district attorney revealed during a court appearance Wednesday.Amy Cooper was caught on camera calling 911 and falsely accusing Christian Cooper of threatening her life during an argument over leashing her dog in an area of the park where it is required. Amy and Christian Cooper are not related.Amy Cooper appeared in court Wednesday on a charge of falsely reporting an incident. According to the Manhattan district attorney’s office, the charge is related to the a second phone call, which was not heard on camera.During that call to 911, Amy Cooper repeated her initial accusation and added that the man “tried to assault her," District Attorney Cyrus Vance said.When officers arrived, Amy Cooper admitted that the man had not tried to assault her and had not come into contact with her, according Vance.Amy Cooper appeared virtually before a judge Wednesday, but she did not enter a plea. The case was adjourned until Nov. 17.The district attorney’s office is also exploring the option with Amy Cooper’s defense team of having her participate in an educational program to take responsibility for her actions and educate others on preventing future incidents.The now viral video was taken on May 25 by Christian Cooper. Following the incident, Amy Cooper was dubbed "Central Park Karen" — Karen being a term for women seen as acting racist and entitled.Christian Cooper, an avid bird watcher, had repeatedly told Amy Cooper to leash her pet. Instead, she called 911.Since the video went viral, Amy Cooper was fired by her employer and voluntarily surrendered custody of her dog to the rescue organization she adopted it from. The dog was later returned to her.She has also apologized for her actions and claimed she is not racist.The incident led to Gov. NEW YORK — Now sold on Amazon: insulin and inhalers. The company said Tuesday that it has opened an online pharmacy, giving shoppers the chance to buy their medication on their phones and computers. The move propels Amazon into a new business and could shake up the pharmacy industry. The move puts the online retail giant in direct competition with big chains like CVS and Walgreens, who rely on their pharmacies to bring them a steady flow of shoppers who stop by frequently to pick up their medications. Amazon said it will offer commonly prescribed medications starting, including creams, pills and medications that need to stay cold, like insulin. NEW YORK, N.Y. – Legendary television host Regis Philbin has died at the age of 88, People Magazine and ABC News report.According to a family statement obtained by People and ABC, Philbin passed away from natural causes Friday night, one month shy of his 89th birthday.The statement goes on to say that Philbin’s loved ones are forever grateful for the time they got to spend with him, his warmth, his sense of humor and his ability to make every day into something worth talking about.“We thank his fans and admirers for their incredible support over his 60-year career and ask for privacy as we mourn his loss," the statement ends.For years, Philbin hosted “Live! NEW YORK (AP) -- The nation's largest beauty chain has a deal to place shops in more than 100 Target stores by mid-2021.Ulta Beauty and Target said Tuesday that the shops will be located next to Target's existing beauty sections. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.The partnership comes as the coronavirus pandemic has upended shopping habits. New video appears to show workers for Caltrans handing out campaign materials defending the state's recent gas tax increase while on the job. The video, shot Tuesday, was released by the Yes on 6 campaign, which is pushing to repeal the recent 12-cent-per-gallon hike on the November ballot. The video shows Yes on 6 campaign manager Matt Stockton in the drivers seat of a car. He is apparently stopped at a Caltrans contractor's site along the 78 near Ramona. The video shows a man in a hard hat approaching the window, handing Stockton what appears to be a No on 6 campaign flier defending the gas-tax increase.Stockton in the video asks the man if he is with Caltrans, and the man answers that yes, his crew is working with Caltrans. Other images released by the campaign appear to show the workers were with Pico Rivera-based Manhole Adjusting Inc., and that a Caltrans supervisor was on site. "The misuse, the abuse of taxpayer funds being used in a political campaign, it is shameful, it is outrageous, and it needs to stop right now," said Carl DeMaio, who is chair of the Yes on 6 campaign. Caltrans, a state agency, said in a statement that it is looking into the matter, and has contacted its contractors to say it does not condone political advocacy on project sites. The No on 6 campaign, fighting to keep the gas tax increase, says it was unaware of the incident and that it denounces any inappropriate use of public resources or venues for campaign purposes."The No on 6 campaign very carefully follows all rules prohibiting the use of public resources for campaigning and often reinforces those rules to anyone involved with the campaign," the campaign said in a statement. Calls to the on-site Caltrans supervisor and Manhole Adjusting Inc were not immediately returned."If this is happening on more than one occasion, it's egregious," said Seth Kaplowitz, a finance lecturer at San Diego State University. "It's egregious because they know they're not supposed to be doing it."Last year, Gov. Jerry Brown and the state legislature raised the gas tax by 12 cents-per-gallon with future increases planned.
