According to documents posted to the JL Wrangler Forum, Fiat-Chrysler will soon be launching a recall that covers “certain” 2018-19 Wranglers because a faulty weld in the frame can cause a sudden crash.More specifically, the documents state some of the vehicles may have been built “with a front bar bracket weld located off the seam potentially resulting in the bracket separating from the frame.” If that happens, there may be a reduction in steering response, resulting in a crash without warning.At the time of this story, car owners had not yet been notified and the recall hasn’t been made official on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website, but the posted documents show dealerships are aware of the impending recall. Some of the vehicles involved in the recall have actually not even been sold yet, so dealerships are being told to withhold sales.  991

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office is responding to criticism after she got her hair done inside a San Francisco salon, amid a citywide coronavirus restrictions on salons.A statement from her office acknowledges Pelosi and her staff relied on the information provided by someone at the salon about what was allowed by the new city regulations that went into effect last Friday, according to multiple outlets.The statement came after Fox News shared a video showing Pelosi inside the salon. Fox talked to the salon’s owner, Erica Kious, who told the news outlet, “it was a slap in the face” that Pelosi could go in and “get her stuff done” while the owner and others can’t work.Kious said it was an independent stylist who rents a chair from her."This business offered for the speaker to come in on Monday and told her they were allowed by the city to have one customer at a time in the business," Pelosi's Deputy Chief of Staff Drew Hammill said in the statement. "The speaker complied with the rules as presented to her by this establishment."The statement also says Pelosi wore a mask except for a brief time when she was getting her hair washed.The new restrictions in San Francisco say hair salons can operate outdoors, and that some procedures, like color and chemical treatments, still cannot be done. 1316

Tammy Duckworth gave birth to a baby girl Monday, her office announced, the first US senator to do so while in office."Bryan, Abigail and I couldn't be happier to welcome little Maile Pearl as the newest addition to our family and we're deeply honored that our good friend Senator (Daniel) Akaka was able to bless her name for us -- his help in naming both of our daughters means he will always be with us," Duckworth said in her office's statement.In her statement, Duckworth used the event to advocate that rules should be changed so she can bring her baby to Senate votes.Duckworth had her first child in 2014, when she was serving in the House of Representatives.An aide close to Duckworth told CNN she's doing well and taking 12 weeks to bond with her new daughter and take care of her family. She's staying in Washington, DC, for her maternity leave and is available to vote as needed.When she gave birth to her first daughter, she took her maternity leave at her home in Chicago, but this time she and her and her husband decided that she would give birth in the DC area in case she needs to vote, the aide said.Akaka -- a Democrat from Hawaii who served in Congress for more than three decades -- died Friday at age 93. He was previously responsible for giving Duckworth's first daughter, Abigail, her middle name of O'kalani.Duckworth is a retired Army lieutenant colonel who was a helicopter pilot in the Iraq War.
