SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police released a sketch Thursday depicting the suspect of a sexual assault at Black's Beach near La Jolla Shores this week.San Diego Police say the female victim was jogging on the beach Wednesday when she was sexually assaulted. The suspect slapped the woman's buttocks twice and grabbed her in the genital area before she broke free and called for help.Officers responded by did not find the man. The suspect is described as a Black man between 30 and 40 years old, with short to no hair and an earring in one ear. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Neighbors are concerned after they say a registered sex offender moved into their Rancho Bernardo community, just feet away from an elementary school playground.Anthony James Morgan, 32, was convicted of possession of child pornography and lewd and lascivious acts with a child in Tennessee in 2013.Neighbors say they became concerned after Morgan moved into a townhouse in their neighborhood weeks ago. According to records on the Megan’s Law website, Morgan lives on the 17000 block of Caminito Baya, about 100 feet away from a playground at Westwood Elementary School.According to the Safe Task Force, which monitors local sex offenders, Morgan’s living situation is legal because of the California Supreme Court.In 2015, the court tossed out blanket restrictions on where sex offenders may live. The ruling came after sex offenders said the restrictions made finding housing impossible for them.  Authorities say while probation or parole agents can implement living restrictions, due to the fact that Morgan is no longer on parole or probation, he is now allowed to live wherever he wants.Neighbors say the rule doesn’t make sense. “I think the rules definitely need to be changed when it comes to sexual predators,” said Linda Vasquez.Vasquez added that she is relieved to hear that Morgan will be moving out of the area in April. “I’m very happy for that. We don’t need that in a neighborhood full of children.”The neighborhood is particularly sensitive to the sex offender issue. Neighbors say registered sex offender John Gardner was spotted at this mother's home - less than 500 feet from Westwood Elementary - in the years before he murdered two teens, including Chelsea King.Father Brett King helped lead a successful fight for tougher laws, including stricter punishments for sex offenders.  When he learned about Morgan's living situation, he told 10news: "As a society, we have lost our common sense ... SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One of the most controversial developments in San Diego's recent history is now welcoming its first residents.The One Paseo development has leased about 60 of its planned 608 housing units, most of which are still under construction.The complex aims to put everything within the reach of its residents in a live, work, play environment. The model units are even staged to make the most discriminating apartment shopper feel right at home. The fridge is stocked with sodas, candy, snacks, and even beer. "If you come here, it's like living on a vacation everyday," said Jay Rey-Hiplito, Kilroy's vice president. "We've got pools, we've got fitness centers, if you're into the best restaurants, you can walk right across the street."RELATED: One Paseo set to open in Carmel Valley following numerous setbacksOne Paseo packs 608 housing units into three buildings just south of Del Mar Heights Road. Rey-Hipolito says with San Diego's supply crunch, renters are willing to live in dense apartment complexes like One Paseo. He says they are increasingly looking at the housing units as places where they rest, spending their leisure time and entertaining at the amenities. The complex includes two pools (one saltwater), a community room, and an expansive gym. In all, that's why he believes the price is right for the units. Studios start at ,350 a month, and the model two-bedroom, at 1,058 square feet, goes for between ,600 and ,800 a month."Instead of looking at price, it's important to focus on value," Rey-Hiploito said. "When you're looking at what you get, you may no longer need to have a second car, you may not need to have a gym membership anymore."RELATED: City Council approves slimmed down One PaseoOne Paseo is a three-pronged, 0-million development that includes housing, office, and retail. The San Diego City Council approved a larger version in 2015, but nearby residents, and the owners of the mall across the street, led a referendum that ended with the current scaled down development. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police on the campus of San Diego State University are hoping surveillance photos will lead to an arrest in a recent burglary. The pictures are clear. They show two men walking in the hallway of a campus building. Another photo shows them at a different angle. Police aren't releasing details about the burglary, but they say right now, there is no threat to campus. This is the latest in a series of crimes on or near campus. Last Wednesday night around 8:30, two men armed with guns robbed two people as they sat in their car. It happened in the north alley off of 55th and Montezuma. Taylor Langpap and her roommate, Jessica Ancar, walk the alley all the time to get to their apartment. "I was a little uneasy that it was just really close to my apartment, but I wasn't really surprised cause stuff like that happens all the time here," said Jessica. In the fall, there was a string or robberies where students had their cellphones stolen. In another case, a man was charged with ripping off students who were trying to sell things on the App Offer Up. Campus police aren't saying if the men in the surveillance photos are wanted in any other crimes, but students say they are always taking precautions, especially when walking after dark. "I make sure to call one of my family members or a friend, and then if I am not on the phone with someone, I try to keep very aware of my surroundings. They have blue lights around campus, you just have to make sure where those are so you can get where you are going safely," said Alexandra Howder. 1570

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One Comic-Con tradition for many has been donating blood every year through the San Diego Blood Bank.While the convention isn't happening in person, locals can still participate in the yearly blood drive and score some SDCC swag while they're at it.San Diego Blood Bank is extending its annual Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive until Aug. 18 at any blood bank center or mobile donation drive. Donors will also receive a limited-edition Marvel Black Widow t-shirt while supplies last — a traditional reward for donors every Comic-Con.For the last 43 years, the blood bank says the drive has seen more than 25,000 pints of blood donated, impacting more than 75,000 lives.The drive is even more important this year as the blood bank faces a shortage amid the pandemic. Last month, the center said it's experiencing a critically low blood supply and all blood types are needed. Summer is usually a challenging time, according to the blood bank, strained even more without schools being open, businesses hosting drives, and as local hospitals continue surgeries delayed due to the pandemic.The blood bank is also testing all blood donations for coronavirus antibodies through the end of July.
